The difference between liberals and conservatives is this: Liberals advocate for policy because they think it will do good for America (rightly or wrongly)... Conservatives advocate for policies that piss liberals off.

When someone on the left says, 'i want single payer', they don't think, 'heh, i bet that makes the right mad', however, anything that conservatives does is fair game as long as it pisses off liberals. This is what is wrong with politics.

Since lolface didn't quote the whole thing, I will.

You are very correct. Republicans fight a war on anything they don't like. Hence the War on *insert here*

I endorse single payer for all because the health of my fellow Americans is important to me. More important than the wealth of a few.

For the flock, it seems to be all about the delicious liberal tears. For the leadership, it's all about greed.

You are painfully boring.

Have an opinion. Put forth an argument. Defend a position.

You can put together sentences, so why not use that intellect to something other than the literary equivalent of a mush-mouth?

My position does not require defense, it is opinion.

My opinion is that the original "point" has no point.

My argument is the American Left and the American Right are bankrupt ideologies, still mired in the morass of the last century and ill suited for the realities of the future while the bulk of Americans are still convinced that Coke is still better than Pepsi (or vice versa).

American politics has become the bureautic equivalent of over-sugared brown bubbly water, with only the color on the packaging for differentiation. The "mush-mouth" masses are still attempting to taste the miniscule difference... and then fighting over it when they disagree.

That is just the classic case of whataboutism the right uses to try and justify having gone all-in on crazy. It's the usual attempt to draw a false equivalence.

True. Since they were hilariously defeated in the election, the hysterical shriekers on the left have become more insane and unhinged than the right could ever dream of being. Thanks for pointing that out

Yes, you're so generous with other people's money.

Yes, you're so generous with other people's money.

Taxation is not a new concept. Would you rather we eliminated Social Security and Medicare?
That is if you honestly think "other people's money" has no business being put to good use.

Economics falls apart if the people are too poor to be consumers. Most spending now is geared towards avoiding that collapse.
You think that might be a good cause?

Republicans depend on their unenlightened base to retain power and appealing to the religious right for support has been a long time essential element in this structure. If we peer behind the veils both parties are liberal so for one to call the other that is ludicrous. Professing conservatives are some of the most liberal people I know and my own parents fall into this basket. I can't reason with them for anything no matter how much evidence I present to them that debunks their twisted beliefs. This skit offended my mother who defends Alex Jones so that should tell you something.

Sure, will we be comparing the endless body counts in liberal paradises Chicago and Baltimore?
Sure, as long as we count the number of people who've died due to inadequate health care, racial violence, poor nutrition, pollution and other environmental causes, regulatory gaps and neglected enforcement, phony wars and geopolitical meddling that enriches the 0.1%, etc., ad nauseum. The body count of the policies and the follies of the right far exceed anything ISIS could hope for.

Sure. I'll start with the Tulsa Race Riot. Huge death toll, property damage galore, and the community still hasn't fully recovered from that loss.

Incidentally, part of the reason Chicago and Baltimore are in trouble is because the conservatives extracted work from the current inhabitants and then left with their tax revenues. You're looking at the human wreckage of what's euphemistically termed white flight and blaming it on the people whose labor was exploited to make it possible.

Yes, you're so generous with other people's money.

You're incredibly kind to the people generously helping themselves to the proceeds of others' work.

There's a third side. It's called "the truth." Stick with that and you can't go wrong. Just be aware that the truth is not always in the exact middle between the two sides. It may at times lean one way or the other.

Exactly I have some left views and some right views. Which makes it hard when both parties want to hard line one way or the other.

We call that kind of thinking intellectual laziness. Both sides are not the same or equal or just as bad.

If you simply stick to the facts and the truth with disregard to being right you'll stop caring about teams and simply start supporting ideas and policies that you feel will get you the results you are looking for when it comes to the government.

No you can't see the forest through the trees. I'm not being lazy if I was being lazy about it I would of stuck conservative like the way I grew up.

How can you vote policies you like when all the politicians are one way or the other? You vote democrat because you like one of his views but then another one of his views you can't stand. Same with the repubs, theres no middle ground. Every things all bickering and auguring now anyway. The 2 sides won't agree just to spite each other at this point.

I bet you're real fair and balanced.
