Who said anything about the Google keyboard? I agree, it's awful.

Bah humbug! I find the Google keyboard to be the best I have used, and I have tried them all.

I think however that a user's keyboard preference has got to be just about the textbook definition of subjective. There were a few reasons I left the iPhone, but right at the top was the keyboard. I hated it back when I had a 4S and I still hate it to this day. Doesn't mean it is necessarily bad, I just don't get along with it. Back then my wife had a S3 and I loved using Swype on that thing. I couldn't wait to switch to an OS that gave me the choice of how I wanted to type. I find the Google keyboard does swype and thumb typing pretty well. That's enough for me as I generally try not to rely on auto-correct anyhow. I've had some tragic matches on iOS and Android both, embarrassing enough that I generally try to do my own spell checking.

So are you suggesting I should use a *worse* 3rd party keyboard?

I do on my iPad. I love SwiftKey Keyboard and the fact that it has my corrections in it from every device since my Nook Color.

I hate getting a new device and having to teach it all the words that don't exist in its spellcheck that I use.

Keyboard is probably one of the biggest things keeping me away from going back to iOS. Yeah they introduced 3rd party keyboards...but they are buggy (which is funny for iOS), crammed on smaller screens, and the experience isn't consistent as some screens forget which keyboard to use and you have to change back to swype each time. Lame.

Google keyboard is awesome. I like the samsung/lg ones with the built in number rows...but I always end up going back to google because of accuracy and looks. The Modern UI keyboard just looks nice and works excellent.

Used Swiftkey for years on Android and got it as soon as it came up on iOS. I can't use anything else.

Blissfully biased review from Ars.

Biased and over-eager preview from AT.

Sigh.. as if sequential read/write speeds matter on smartphones. And for some reason - and I have no doubt there are reasons, there always are - storage bench and battery bench are performed on the 6s Plus, and the rest of the benches are done on the regular 6s. And Mr. Ho's usual verbal excess that is almost always favorable to Apple products does not give any confidence to this reader.

The reason right now for that article is surely time available. The full review will have them both tested I'm sure.

How specifically are they both biased? Please elaborate.

Agreed. Google's keyboard has been by far the best I've ever used. All others have some kind of issue (Swiftkey doesn't have the best swipe typing for example). On iOS, 3rd party keyboards are a joke (buggy mess, all of them), and the Apple keyboard doesn't do swipe typing - which is very odd because Apple loved to champion one handed use - so it's useless to me.

AT's review of the S6 was pretty effusive when it came to storage/NAND performance, as well. Probably interesting for them because only Apple and Samsung do anything particularly interesting when it comes to storage performance.

An Apple user who doesn't worship the Apple keyboard! Somebody get a rope!
