It's true. I can think of no sense of central leadership, although there's something to be said for that. There are spokespeople, but nobody stands out. John Lewis dying was unfortunate at this juncture. Anyway, barring another major incident (black American spectacularly murdered, and likely by police, without justification) I expect things to mellow out at least a little until after the election. What happens after Nov. 3, I don't know.

There is another situation in Rochester NY. Video from March has surfaced of the police "suffocating" an unarmed black man who was sort of out of control. (Apparently had mental health issues and was on drugs.) I put "suffocating" in quotes, because that is the term I heard used. Not sure if it is medically accurate. He claimed to have covid, and was spitting at the police who then put a spit hood over his head. Visually very disturbing, but I dont know if it is an accepted police tactic.

Yeah, I saw the story on the news tonight. Happened something like 6 months or more ago but only came to national attention AFAIK today or so. There are other stories that could pop up, for sure. Is publicizing this a ruse by the Republicans to pivot the election on backlash to civil unrest concerning police brutality? I absolutely have to wonder. They can't seem to come up with any other way to bend the electorate at this point. They've failed miserably in most every thing, most notably handling the pandemic.

If true, gotta think personally that this is the best news I've heard about America in memory. I have always had to look askance at anyone who echoes the L&O mantra. When I hear/see that I think of squadrons of soldiers marching in lock-step, e.g. Nazis and any number of other totalitarian regimes. Little would help assuage my bruised self more than seeing Biden's polling vs. that of Dump improve all the way to and most importantly through the election.

Hardly. The case that Trump and his coterie are spearheading a push for fascism in the USA is entirely established. An orderly process after a Trump loss would not negate all that one bit. I won't elaborate. The case has been made very well here and elsewhere. I saw an article in the NYTimes the other day, written up by Susan Rice that was a whopping litany of transgressions. Trump is a classic reactionary, but worse than that, he has zero integrity, and worse than that, he's venemous, incoherent, undisciplined, unprincipled, uneducated and delusional. He's also an egomaniac and utterly arrogant and completely unwilling to allow humility anywhere near him. And all those things I've said barely begin to describe the degree to which he's unfit to be a manager of people much less our nation.

Facism is not defined by the method by which those authoritarians eventually loose their power. It is entirely legitimate to look at how power is being exercised right now and declare it such with a comfortable margin.
