Driver Link (First one listed worked for me)

3com drivers are a bit wierd because some 3com products are rebadged Marvell chips. The 3c940(commonly found on 1st gen Athlon64 boards) for example is a certain Marvell Yukon product. Vista doesn't detect it as such because of the hardware id, but if you force it to load the generic Yukon driver, everything's fine.

3) Use Firefox becuase IE 7 may look nice but its slower than dial up even if you have broadband
Uh, no it isn't. If you are seeing that kind of perf, you should file a bug.

4. At the bottom will be a tool called " Disable UAP " Select this tool and click the launch button. A reboot will be required.
If you really want to disable UAC, there are much easier and fine grained ways to do so, using the local policy editor (gpedit.msc), that don't require a reboot.

Yeah I used the feedback icon and let them know. I just wonder why IE7 is so slow for me when FF works great.

yes, sort of. the driver is installed in the Device Manager and ATITool starts just fine, but does not read GPU clocks, probably because of the display drivers being crap, so though it works and is installed, it's kind of pointless until better drivers drop.

Nothing is reading the GPU bios properly except PowerStrip?? dunno why.

I haven't had any issues with IE7. I think it works as well or better than IE6. I'm using Broadband Time Warner RR.

RE: nVidia nForce Beta Driver for Vista

Does anyone know if this driver will work work with nForce 2 chipset. nVidia states it only supports this driver for their newer chipsets. I'm having problems w/ the multimedia devices (sound, game port, etc.)

Actually if installing BWGBurn caused your system to work, it was entirely accidental. BwgBurn does not install any drivers onto your system. It works with the existing pass through SCSI drivers (SPTI) to the CD drives. If installing BwgBurn caused your system to start recognizing drives, then something else is happening.

BwgBurn just installs dotnet assemblies (both applications and libraries)

Thanks

To control vista dual boot, this is sooo easy and simple.

1. Right-Click on My Computer and select properties
- (In Vista you can select View System Information from the Computer window.)
2. From the System Properties window select the Advanced tab
3. Push the Settings button under Startup and Recovery
4. Select the default OS from the Default operating system dropdown box.
5. Click OK twice.

I am building a vidieo editing PC

It should do fine, but you're amost commiting to buying a copy of the official release when it's available.

Test run it for a year & you'll have the touch figured out.

I was able to get Warcraft III working. Most will probably know what this is, but popular iwth DOTA in the game, just download the banlist at http://www.wc3banlist.com and run it as an admistrator then start up the game. Gives you sound.

Try looking in Help for "Mastered (iso)" disks. The built in burner may do what you need.

No, that is a bit of confusing text in the help, which is being fixed I believe. They help is referring to ISO 9660 format used on most CDs, but not ISO images. I believe the capability to burn ISO images is in there somewhere, but there is no app in Vista that exposes it. You would need to write your own. In other words, you'll need to use something like Nero or Roxio to burn ISO images.

Can't get the Realtek AC97 drivers from their site to work with Vista x64. Though some downloaded from Windows update that work fine so far.

Did get pointed to this program,
Isorecorder Free and supposedly recommended by Microsoft.

If I get a re-confirmation that this works, I'll move the download link up to the Header listing.

Don't know if you would want this here, but since UAC is so annoying to most folks I thought this might be of interest:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/Window...c-b70e-b18ff918c281.mspx#BKMK_AdminUAC some interesting stuff there. I turned on UAC then ran secpol.msc and wound up with my settings as pictured. Computer may be less secure but at least it doesn't bug me everytime I try to do something.

The bottom eight settings are relevant.
