I don't know why you'd need to call MS other than to harass them. The damn keys are good for a dozen activations.Originally posted by: Bozo Galora

RC1 is good till Jun 07
Looks like MS will spoon out the downloads in segments so as not to crash WWW.
It is very critical for D/L speeds as to which sw you use to download
The akamai DLM is good and avail at the d/l page
Firefox internal works good
my greenbrowser only got 44K
Flashget is also good

as far as keys/activation, the following has worked for others.........
Do the install with any beta key (or no key), or skip to phone in activation
This will give prod ID
Call MS hotline and input by phone your prod ID for activation, which will fail
You will then be turned over to a live rep.
The rep will ask for prod ID, and how many lic you have (1)
He will then give you new prod ID
In other words, its just like when you call MS for new XP key when you have done too many HW changes
MS is handing out the damn things for free, who cares if it's blacklisted?Originally posted by: Bozo Galora
hey fella, you are way behind the learning curve, but I aint gonna argue with you - I got better things to do.
yeah, I just call MS to harass them.
what you dont seem to understand is that is MOST peeps dont have a CPP beta 2 serial
and anyone who tried to share a key with someone else had it BLACKLISTED when he tried to ACTIVATE it.
man, posting on AT is such an aggravating exercise in futility, so many tards

Looks like most of the memory bloat from Vista comes from SuperFetch, Explorer (no surprise there), AeroGlass and the SearchIndexer. Unfortunately, the only thing you can realistically turn off is Aero.
Memory commit between these four items alone is about 250MB.
This isn't memory bloat, this is SuperFetch doing what it's supposed to do. Caching your frequenly used apps in memory is a lot faster than paging.Looks like most of the memory bloat from Vista comes from SuperFetch

I have installed RC1 32bit on on my new conroe system (see my rig) my first vista experience with my new setup. It installed ok execpt it seemed to do it very slowly. The system is like a slideshow now its like frame by frame like a driver problem. So I installed ATI RC1 video drivers and still same problem. I have checked resources on machine and there not show any high usage. I did the compatability test and there wiere no probles showing for video or hard drive. The via drivers that were installed by default have no updates and seem to be no problem. Anyone used this board for vista? I hope I dont have to send it back and get something more compatible.
