if they have all this ammo now why are they running from the zombies? Why not open fire?

ALSO! My friend and I were watching, and both noticed the zombies looked different this episode. She thought it looked more like they were wearing masks, I thought they looked more cartoony...anyone else?

It kinda didn't bug me lol. They didn't get to the armory yet. I think they found a couple watchtower rifles and a little ammo.

Everything in the season was re-made artistically a little bit. Carls gun silencer, Ricks makeup, the zombies, more detail about the food, and I think shorter downtime sequences. Less drama and more like 5 minutes of hanging out and back to zombies. Drama is more weaved into the zombie sequences.

Just realized that the sheriff probably needs to keep the vet alive to deliver the deputy's zombie baby. That why he didn't kill him immediately.

I didn't notice a lot of that, but I did notice the smaller amount of downtime.

If I remember right, they effed it from the start last season with a 2 hour premiere where all they did was run around the damn woods.

You do know how dangerous it is to open fire in a narrow hallway...in the dark..with 5 people in the room?

It's also stupid to not pad vulnerable areas like the neck, ankles and forearm/wrists. Cloth will help with penetration from human teeth and not weigh you down or restrict too much movement. It's all TV but come on!

I don't think they understand protective wear too well. Did you see them trying to fight those guards in riot gear?

"Let me hit this guy on this thick padding!"

Would have been interesting for one of the slave zombies to be white... The fact that both were black like the katana lady struck me.

The survivors rarely seem to loot the bodies of walkers (e.g. prison guards wearing armour and helmets). Wasteful bunch...
I guess you missed the scene where the joke was made about there not being enough wood in the forest to boil clean all the helmets dripping with gooey zombie faces (which we actually saw an early scene of Rick tearing a helmet off a zombie and its face went with it), or the later scenes where at least some of the raiding party was clearly wearing at least the vests

...or how the full riot gear didn't exactly stop the guards already wearing it from dying and eventually turning...

Just realized that the sheriff probably needs to keep the vet alive to deliver the deputy's zombie baby. That why he didn't kill him immediately.

yeah, the dudes a doctor, he has a ton of value to the group even if had 0 legs

also, the other "old dude" was freaking disemboweled, not just wounded below the knee, not even skyrim...

Ummm...

The two zombies are her boyfriend and her boyfriends friend.

It would just make TOO much sense if you know..her boyfriend was black and so was his friend.

He was totally trying to make the prepubescent moves on the blonde cutter. Too bad daddy was there to stop him!

The more zombies they use, the lower quality the makeup. The ones in front usually look a lot better than the ones in the back.

If you want to complain about technical issues, how about the guns? They were using rubber prop guns most of the time, no trigger pull, hammer fall, or slide cycling. Not even pretending there was recoil most of the time either. They started off pretending there was recoil, but less than halfway through the prison shooting, the guns just get a cgi flash and that's it.

I enjoy watching people nitpick about the small details on a show with a limited budget. I mean it is the A&E network...

Overall I think the episode is off to a good start. And interesting to note, in our absence from watching, their characters were still surviving, having this be months ahead of where we left off, unlike last season's first episode.

Why are you so smug? I don't remember seeing that explained anywhere in the episode. In fact did they even give that black woman a name? She has like 3 lines the entire episode.

And where did they find actors with no arms, or is that just CGI? looks cool.

What I don't understand is how the zombies in riot gear are even there in the first place.

You are prison guard in riot gear trapped in a prison full of zombies. How does one get infected and turn to zombie without the zombie devouring your entire body? We saw what a group of zombies did to Otis. They ate every bit of him and tore his body apart. I would think that a group of zombies would have figured out how to roll the guard over to find the exposed neck area to bite his head off.

There must have been something else going on to infect everyone, then something that caused widespread death and reanimation into zombies.

I can't see how a prison full of people can get all scratched and bit. What I would think would happen is that there would be a small outbreak, maybe a dozen or so get infected. That group would then go on rampage devouring each victim. I can't see them biting a victim and then letting them just run away.

I freaking love this damn show and am glad its back on again. There must be a lot of people here who have never enjoyed tv and movies. I watch entertainment to be entertained, not nitpick at every little thing, its a zombie tv show for crying out loud.

Everyone is infected. They went over this last season, and then again this episode when Lori was talking to Herschel about her concerns over her infected baby.

Her point about the unborn child being infected... What if it is developed enough and then dies in the womb. Does it reanimate and tear her apart from the inside out? How phenomenal would that be?!?!

Who says it was a zombie bite? They showed end of last season, that everyone is infected (disease is airbourne). When you die, reguardless HOW you die, you come back, if your able to (head not blown off etc.)

They could have died by natural causes, like a heart attack from being scared. Or maybe they starved/dehydrated to death because they were hiding. I mean where they are now, the outbreak has been going for a botu a year "in show time", so plenty of ways to naturally die.

The real question is, are the zombie bites also carrying the infection, or is it possible their bites kill a person eventually, by some lethal venom like disease? And thus turn because they are infected from the airbourne versions?
