Just watched the finale and read 3 pages to catch up on the bitching But i agree. Weak ass finale and MANY stupid things happened that dont make any sense. Show is going down hill very fast.

Too late to stop it now though, its popularity has reached critical mass. Unlike Mad Men and Breaking Bad, AMC produces this show and they will milk it to make as much money as they can.

One of my friends pointed something out and I have a question. The girl that joined Rick's group that survived the massacre of the gov, was it her son that was shot by Carl?
I don't think so... At least there was no indication of that, that I recall.
1 false move, can mean 1 bite. 1 Bite means death.

She just happened to be weak from being chained for so long, with dehydration and all the other fun details, and this one time she just happened to get bit.

You can be perfect 99.9% of the time fighting zombies, but the one time you fumble and get bitten. Game over.
Exactly! Just because you win dozens of times before, doesn't mean you'll win every single time.
The only idea I can come up with is that the prison group didn't want to kill anyone, they just wanted to scare them away...
Makes sense... 90% of those people were innocent, manipulated by the Governor.
But why did they want to go after them and "finish it"?
They wanted to kill the Governor.

It might have been. Remember a couple of episodes ago when Super Governor was getting together every able bodied person in Woodbury to form the militia that was going to attack the prison? It that scene there was a woman complaining that her son was not fit to fight, and Super Governor said 'No, He fights!' and then told some other random old lady that they didn't need her.

I'll have to go back and watch that scene again to see if that was the kid, and who his mom is.

This season has sucked donkey slonge.

If I was the writer:
Rick would have died(while distracted by lori's apparition of course) after kneecapping the governor in his creepy head aquarium room while ripping out his last eyeball with his fingers, leaving him blind and gimped to be nibbled to death by the heads, and then Rick when he turns.

Woodberry is over run with zombies, and the heavily armed psycho's who defend it leave the pathetic townspeople to their doom and become roving bands of killers, some of which fight over the prison for it's obvious defensive advantages. The group barely escapes but finds refuge with Morgan Jones, the Black guy that lost his son and went fruit loops. He is feeling slightly better but his booby trapped town is threatened by a giant herd, attracted by all the gun fire and explosions at the prison and woodberry.

I don't have an issue with what Carl did. If the kid didn't want to get shot he should have tossed the gun way to the side.

I agree, Carl did what he needed to do. Heck the kid was moving the business end of that shotgun towards Carl....

Andrea: Tries to save everyone. Saves no one and dies;
Carl: Tries only to save self and close family/friends. Mostly a few strangers die and self and close family/friends survive (except for his mom, but that was not his fault).

Carl appears to have it right.

Report I read said 12.5 million viewers for this finale. Damn... I don't think even a bunch of popular non-cable shows get that.

Horrible show. Horrible writing (Or lack thereof?). Horrible acting.

Horrible...

But hey, the blonde bitch is dead. At least that happened. I keep watching because I hope it will get better.

EDIT: MotionMan, if you think that's something worth noting... what about all the times they fire and it's just ENDLESS? (Infinite Shotgun, etc.)

While not a particularly good second half of the season, the episode when they went back home, and the one where Merle died were pretty good. That was a fairly clever plan Merle had...using zombies to get them to shoot their guns so he could mask his own fire. If he had another guy or two they could have ended everything right there.

I guess that also highlights how frustrating the show can be at times. They really go out of their way to find ways to drag things out. Its like one of the writers comes up with a great idea, and they chop it off at the knees so that they can keep doing the same old thing. Like in the finale...the plan was to get them in the prison, but they dont cover the door out of the prison. Two rifles covering the door should have been able to kill anyone trying to go out. Heck, it looked like Glen was making Molotov cocktails earlier, and they could have thrown them at the door so they would have been trapped inside. I dont even think he used them. Or they should have disabled the vehicles while they were inside, and picked them off in an open field or make them deal with zombies on the walk home. I know they want the governor to come back for another season, but they could have better.

Anyways, I'd glad I waited for the second half to finish before I watched them. The flaws dont stick out as much when you just move on to the next episode.

It really was a pretty miserable finale.

Keeping the governor for season 4 is weak sauce... really weak sauce.

them staying at the prison, is likewise.

Yeah, I am pretty sure it was Karen that had the son, but I am not sure if the kid that Carl killed was her son or not.
