I didn't really understand why they choose to kill the prisoners, their group getting smaller and it would be better to recruit more members. It would be best if they could add the prisoners to the team.

Why did they tell the prisioners to burn the dead zombies? I haven't seen them burn anyone. There's dead zombies all over the place.

Maybe they are going to start a soap business, I bet you could sell the crap out of lye soap in a post apocalyptic world.

How can they be part of the team when they were trying to kill them? Can't be part of the team if when you turn your back they stab you in the back.

Ya, it's hard enough to trust a random stranger you find wandering around on the street. A bunch of guys that are locked up for reasons you don't know (could be drugs, could be murder, could be rape, etc.), that haven't seen a woman in at least a year, and you want to give them freedom to join/wander freely among your group?

It's why games like Day Z and zombie culture generally is interesting. We know what the zombies are capable of and generally how they are going to behave. See zombie, assume it wants to eat your tasty brain. See human... who knows?

They burned a bunch at the farm. The advice didn't seem in place if you ask me, but they probably just wanted to give T-Dog a line.

I've read some of the comics, but I don't really recall why they choose to burn them, other than to just get rid of the corpses. They did establish in the comics the idea of a zombie playing possum early on.

I don't see how the prisoners were trying to kill them?

The one guy intentionally missed a zombie and swung at rick, then he pushed a zombie on top of him. It was pretty blatant, then rick chopped him in the head.

Heh... I guess you don't know what happened in the comic when they tried to co-habitate with the prisoners.

In real life, I probably would have done the same. You have no idea what those guys were locked up for and I just couldnt take that chance. This coupled with the fact that one of them was a hothead = easy choice.

From the beginning the crew was harsh to the prisoners. Darly had a bow and arrow on their ass. They were after their food and starting going at seperating the team within the prision (how long will that last).

I would of came off with "your part of our group" behavior up-front, unless they wanted to be homicidal maniacs. They've been institutionalized, I think they would have been good with the team.

I knew Rick was going to kill some of them, if not all. This was sort of foreshadowed before hand when Lori told Rick she didn't think he was a killer, but to do what he had to do. Maybe if this was in Season 1 or in that time frame, he would have trusted them. But think of all that the group has gone through over the last 10 months. The group, and esp. Rick have come to learn that you can only trust yourself.

The writers need to be careful with that. If Rick and other members of the group just go full on "survive at all costs" mode and have no qualms about killing the living, then I think viewers will lose touch with the characters and the show will lose a lot of followers.

I don't think so, that main prisoner with the tattoos was pretty damn crazy, he kept saying the prison was his and they showed off how insane he was when he was smashing in the other inmates head. I highly doubt playing nice with a psychopath like that would have made things work out. Also he was trying to make rick's death look accidental, I think he was trying to kill rick so he could take over both groups.

Kill the leader and the rest melts away. Daryl might make it, but he's now really "with" the group. The show still wasn't really clear on whether all the prisoners were in on it or if it was just the main guy. One of them ran off, but I couldn't tell whether he was freaked out in general or he was in on it.

Yeah I could see that, but only because we really can't appreciate what they are feeling/going through. Think of how much war changes a man. Now on top of that, everybody you ever knew is very likely dead. Not many of us can truly understand what it's like to be in a world that they are in. Even at first, Hershel didn't trust Rick and the group and it took a lot of work for them to become a team. The men Rick encountered in the bar back in Season 2, were also shady and were most likely going to follow them back to the barn to try and take over. Time after time, they come across people who can't be trusted or who are as equally desperate as they are. Morals are relative, and in this case many of them have been tossed out the window.

I don't see why anyone would have a problem with Rick killing the prisoners and how it was set up. The guy tried to kill him.... then the black one swung a bat at him. I'd say that's enough reason to kill them both.

Or become the most popular show on cable.

He started to say the prison was his once rick made it apparent that he wanted the prison all to himself. Rick then goes on about this bullshit that you guys were locked in a room and we released you, so now it's ours (the prison). I think it was obvious that they wanted the prison for themselves at whatever cost.
