Disappointing that they dragged out the entire second half of the season and from the way it looks well into the next one. God damn it, why are those writers still employed?

Yeah pretty much disappointing only good thing was that
andrea died

The Guv'na still alive and well though with his henchmen, meh. Drag it out more why dontcha.

Fail stab by Milton! Also that guy had an AK 47 aimed at the governor and the governor still outdrew him, another fail! That guy was a dick anyways though. Even andrea seemed to have the upper hand but still failed somehow despite killing 100s of zombies in the past. Taking a bunch of old ladies into the group...yeah that's exciting.

Now we wait until friggin october again. Ah well.

ALSO just heard the actor who plays Rick after the show and was pretty surprised to hear his English accent - those guys are so good at hiding it (like hugh laurie).

That was the dumbest Finale.....

*sigh*

We spent 30 minutes watching Andrea try to escape.

Yeah, she sat there talking for so long, it was damn annoying.

And it was so obvious she'd drop the pliers. Rolled my eyes at that one.

Saw that coming from about 8 miles away. Soooo many clichés in this show. Sometimes I wonder if the target audience is 7th graders, and maybe a lot of these worn out plot devices and suspense tools are new to them.

I felt like I could have watched every scene with Andrea on fast forward and still have wasted my time.

You just knew that was going to happen. I fast forwarded through her scenes with the pliers.

Why is this show trying so hard to appeal to Wal-Mart customers? Not in the product placement so much as raw logic you would expect a WM stopper to exhibit.

Well, at least it didn't really end with much of a cliffhanger except that we all know the Governor will eventually come back.

It really seemed like it made us all look stupid for thinking that stuff was actually going to happen in the prison. The Governor's previous attack by killing creepy, prisoner guy was more successful. All they did was blow up a guard tower and get flash banged. I hope the attack wasn't scaled back because of budget issues because this show is enough of a cash cow that it should be able to support it. It's not like much has really happened in this half of the season to require a huge budget. I could see the Morgan episode being the most expensive one of the season considering how much they built for one episode.

What an awesome display of absolutely shitty writing. You've all pretty much covered it but for me the big issues were:

1) The trap in the prison, they hit them with flash bangs, set off an alarm and then wait for them to come outside? Uh, how about hit them with flashbangs and then mow them down with your machine guns? Flashbangs in a low-light environment like that would leave them blind for a good amount of time.

2) Run out of the prison with two people hosing down the group with machine guns and no-one is apparently hit or killed, yet 20 seconds later "It was a slaughter!" Yeah, of their ammo stockpiles maybe.

3) Big vehicle mounted gun just happens to be jammed when it was firing fine right before they went in. Hell, for that matter, why didn't Rick's group get up on that gun and wait for them to come out? If it had a guard, wait for the FBs inside and then take down the gaurd(s), but I didn't notice any.

4) Governor mowing everyone down and no-one even tries to shoot back in a group where everyone is armed. Guy with the bead on him waits and does nothing. Was he waiting for the Governor to say "Oops, my bad, won't happen again."?

5) Governor drives off into the sunset? I expected him to head back to town, spin some BS about them getting routed and set up a defense. He just basically disappears.

6) The whole Andrea pliers/handcuffs thing. Yup, just need some pliers apparently. Hacksaws are for noobs.

The whole thing was just facepalm worthy.

Wow really? neither glen or maggie can shoot for shit, at all. I guess the gov's group forgot they had rpgs as well.

How come they didnt just lock them inside and let them starve to death? Its a prison, let it do its thing ffs

Lock who in the prison?

If you mean the gov's group they had guns to get past the doors and the original group had a lot of places to get out from as surrounding it would had taken a lot of people not to mention being attack on both sides from the people or the zombies.

I am saddened they went back to the prison.

It's just too boring compared to town plus with the town setting they could do there is a new sheriff in town now.

But only killing one main character off seems odd unless people have very good contracts.

Yes, indeed this season finale was lame.

I can only add to the chorus on some of the stupid crap...

Glen and Maggie hitting nobody... there was not even a good justification for this. You can't argue that they wanted to keep those characters around, because they were all shot a few minutes later by the governor anyway. You could still portray the governor as going nuts and being evil by having him kill several of those people, but have some die to Glen and Maggie too. Just made no sense.

Not enough people died from the prison group, for a season finale...

They should have been driven out of the prison, and put back on the road, like in the comic.

Maybe a good finale would have been the governor's group and the prison group in the middle of fighting at the prison, and then all their gunfire draws an enormous herd of zombies the likes of which they haven't seen since Atlanta, or larger than anything they've ever seen... descends on the prison and they're all forced to flee, several from both groups die, Governor and Rick have to fight zombies side by side, but then go at eachother and Rick wins... I don't know. Maybe that would've been lame too, deus ex zombie. Better than this though.

As for Andrea and the pliers... yea... that was embarrassing. I think she should have kicked them over to Milton while he was still alive, and demanded he use them to pull every one of his teeth out, making him a less dangerous zombie. I'm kidding, but that would've at least been funny.

Milton really couldn't muster enough life-juice to get up and help her out of the chair before he bled out for however long?

Leaving them still in the prison at the end and leaving the governor alive, were the two biggest offenses. It also seems they didn't have the balls to kill anyone off. Carol, Hershel, Maggie's sister, the baby, all should have died.

The show should've gone straight back to a more lean, zombie-packed, action-packed "on the road" type of experience again like Season 1.

totally glad andrea's dead now. and i've read a lot of correlations between carl and the governor and the whole "kill or be killed" mentality. carl's point wasn't kill or be killed, it was make sure you don't make mistakes and go with your gut. if that were the case, he would never have told rick that michonne was one of them... he would have told him to blast a bullet through her brain. however, his gut told him this kid wasn't able to be trusted and he was right not to... i sure as hell wouldn't trust a kid who, when you told him to drop his gun, was going way too slowly... he had no ties to the group in any way, so his allegiance could not have been swayed. the kid made the right call.

and i don't think andrea was ever really "good"... i mean... she was a dumbass idealist in a post-apocalyptic where survival is what matters most. in fact, the whole point of this episode was that, in a zombie apocalypse, all bets are off and you need to survive and grow your group to survive. rules made for civilized people go out the window in a zombie apolcalypse. to drive this message home, carl talks about people whose lives have been spared because of pre-apocalyptic rules/mentalities that resulted in crucial deaths to the group. then, we are reminded by the fact that andrea spared the governor's life for the same mentality and lots of people died.

so glad she's dead... now, she won't be around anymore to cause any more deaths. she consistently made the wrong choices and they ended up in protagonist deaths or injuries (in some fashion).
