I'm looking forward to see what direction it goes this season. Season 1 was great, season 2 was pretty good, and I didn't really like season 3, the whole governor story line was rather lame. Too bad they didn't off the governor character at the end of the season, now we know he'll be back at some point later.
I hope they go back to the season 1 storyline where it focuses more on day to day survival in an insane zombie world rather than focusing on the people-vs-people drama.
I can't disagree with anything you said. I just told my wife last night that I hope the Governor isn't the focus of this season.I'm looking forward to see what direction it goes this season. yea I am hoping for this as well, although I liked season 3 more than season 2. Season 2's farm episodes got a bit too slow. I just went on a marathon and watched all three seasons over the past 2 weeks. Never followed the show before that. Pretty good show but not sure if I'll like it as much not being able to watch all the episodes back to back.
what else should I start watching instead of Walking Dead?
following GoT & the late-Breaking Bad
I have a love-hate relationship with this show.
It's not very good. Some devices are just awful- Dale's death was some next-level lazy writing, Lori's character and parenting makes ZERO sense, and Governor ordeal was just too drawn out.
Unlike GoT or BB, I can't stand ANY of the characters in TWD. I don't know if that's a good thing- the writers managed to suck me into their characters even if all of them are irritable:
Andrea: Annoying dumbass, I cringed when they showed her getting changed. She's not even hot.
Rick: His acting is just eyeball-fvck the camera whenever something intense happens.
Hershel: His slow ass predictable southern accented talk is annoying
Lori: laugh.
Carl: little pisser that needs to die after Lori.
Glenn: I can't even stand this kid- sick of the typical submissive/passive shy Asian role.
Daryl and Maggie are only characters I care for. Well, Maggie barely qualifies simply because she's hot and isn't annoying- that's sad.
I think I just watch this show just because it's popular and people talk about it. I wouldn't mind if TWD turned into an one-man show about Daryl's solo adventure- coming across people and zombies while on the road.
LOL, Carole is so forgettable of a character that you didn't even remember to complain about her.
Who? Let me look her up. Is that Hershel's nonexistent girl?
TWD is a much much better show when you can watch episodes back to back, even if just a few at a time. When I started, I watched seasons 1+2 back to back and watched season 3 as it aired. I didn't like season 3 too much but went back and watched them back to back and found it a lot more enjoyable. I plan to wait for a handful of episodes to come out for season 4 before I start watching it.
