What if he's the one who got them diseased? Remember on the farm... the infamous well zombie. Imagine if he did something like that, on purpose. Might also have something to do with the clumps bringing the fence down.

We already know that someone has been "baiting" the zombies to the fence with rats, so that's a given. No spoiler tags needed.

Absolutely loved this episode. They really ratcheted up the tension this week. Herschel is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorite TV characters.

Even the Governor's appearance no longer bothers me. I have said that I hope we don't see him again for at least this entire season. But this season is going so well, that I'm actually optimistic that he will be a much better character under the guidance of the new showrunner and editors.

What's up with the kids on this show... Lizzy is like Season-Two-Carl 2.0, always showing up where she doesn't belong, after being told directly to stay put. Gotta admit that her swiping her foot across the blood/mucus puddle on the floor was quite creepy.

I honestly was not surprised to see the governor at all. As soon as they started panning left, I was like "here comes the guv".

i was kind of like that, but was more thinking "PLEASE DO NOT SHOW THE GOVERNOR PLEASE DO NOT SHOW THE GOVERNOR!!!!!!!!"

I would assume there is an ample supply of toothbrushes and toothpaste. It has only been maybe 3 years. Toothpaste lasts longer than that IIRC. Most have an expiration date 2 years after their manufacture and will lose some effectiveness. However, with the complete breakdown of society, I think a lot of the artificial crap we put in our body that destroys our teeth (soda for example) is long gone. They should be okay with simple cleaning. And even if they've all developed cavities since last year, it is hardly something that is going to cripple them now. Perhaps in 5 years, after it has had time to grow and rot a ton, tooth decay will become a problem.

yeh, i was under the impression that lack of sweets in general and certain foods and drinks is better than brushing. some of those untouched jungle tribes that dont have access or knowledge have near perfect teeth. then again who says they arent eating all the junk food they run across.

The music gave it away.

what? I didnt notice any Broadway musical theme song...

I kind of expected him to break out a tophat and a cane and jump into a Hello my baby, hello my darling song and dance

Damn you BLR for that

When the music started intensifying at the end with The Governor still out of the frame, my mother wondered out loud "What's going on?! I don't see anything." I immediately answered "The Governor" because I recognized the music from a previous encounter.

Okay... moving forward, anyone else going to get sick?

Hershel, Maggie, others? Or is the medicine they brought back a "cure-all" and we move onto the next topic?

I vote it'll be next topic, though I really did not expect
Hershel to make it.

Didn't even notice the music, perhaps it was a subconscious thing.

Though even before that, I had the feeling they were going to bring him back simply because they didn't kill him off last year.

That and they haven't really established a villain for this year either.

lol, i was like "wtf?!?!?!?!?" at that too

We get to see about one hour or so out of at minimum several days to a week passing between episodes. For all we know they have weapons cleaning detail every single day. I know I would implement such a thing, but maybe that's my Army training...

A properly cleaned and lubricated weapon can stand to be outside in the elements for days or weeks at a time and still function effectively especially an AK-47.

I was more concerned with just leaving a cache like that in plain view unsupervised next to an exterior fence...

That brings me to a CSM Plumlee saying from "We Were Soldiers."

Believe when asked where his weapon was as they went into the Ia Drang Valley his response to the question was, "Reckon by the time I need one there'll be plenty layin' on the ground" or something similar.

I agree though that tactically they should either be carried or in a protected arms vault. Some good old Army discipline would do them good.

I wouldn't keep them locked up. It might protect them from the elements, but when you need one, good luck running back to the armory. I agree, people should be carrying at least handguns, but long rifles are not fun to lug around (and I did that in my military days). Where they had some weapons stores (I imagine that wasn't all of them) was a good place. It had a good location in the event of a fence breach (which was pretty likely with how the zombies were piling up) and accessible for short notice needs.

The real problem isn't how stupid they are in gun storage, but how stupid they are in pretty much everything else.

Also, how exactly could they go out all the time (and Michonne go looking specifically for him) could they not find the governor camping somewhere right outside the prison.

I also have a feeling Daryl is going to go looking for Carol. Herschel and Maggie might agree with Rick's decision, as they view him the leader even if he doesn't want to be, Daryl most likely doesn't feel the same.

Dunno about Daryl and Carol. Daryl said he would put a bolt in whoever killed those two and even if he changes his mind when he finds out it was Carol he knows Tyrese would kill her still. It would be out of character for someone as rational as Daryl has proven to be to not accept Ricks solution as the best option even if he doesn't like the situation (that Carol herself caused)

What if Carol sacrifices herself in taking out of the Gov? Or she somehow redeems herself against him?

That would be epic. They are trapped or facing off with the gov and Carol shows up out of nowhere , shanks the gov in the neck, and stares at them like "what?" and walks off.

So we're 5 episodes in and the "major" things that have happened include:
- People got sick and died. A group left and got antibiotics to save a few of them.
- Carol killed some sick people and was then made to leave the group.
- Rick stopped being crazy.
- Zombies knocked over fence, but were easily mopped up by Rick and Carl.
- Governor is back.

Does this seem like 220+ minutes of content to people? I feel like I could watch the last 5-10 minutes of each episode and still follow the entire plot. Am I just a plot fiend or do other people feel this way?
