Wouldn't it be funny if they just made up spoilers? Like you think it's spoiled, but when you watch the show or read the comic you're like "WTF? that wasn't what **** said happened"

not funny and outing spoilers really ruins these types of threads. Hell I havent seen techs since they outed the red wedding before it aired.

I am done in this thread. Thx guys.

What are we on now...T-Dog 4.0?

I'm not one to point out racial junk in a t.v. show, but do they have a black, male quota? Tyrese doesn't count for some reason, but they sure seem to lose them and replace them within an episode.
Bob wasn't even black in the comics so I don't think that "token black guy enevitably dies" shtick applies.

Well, it is based on a comic book series which supposedly involved a lot of cannibalism. I guess the scene where Bob is laughing at them eating his foot happened almost exactly like in the comics except that it's Dale instead. I think the show has never been better now than since the first season. Killing a villain off by episode three never would have happened in season two or three. Cannibalism would probably happen in this type of world so I think it's fair game.
The cannibals in the comic were not people they had encountered in an urban environment. They started picking them off and trying to cause panic before the goup knew what was happening. I think they screwed it up because the whole dropping Bob off to cause panic thing didn't work nearly as well when Rick and co already knew so much about the people who did this. In Dale's case it was a lot more impactful.

How does that hospital still have electricity is what I want to know?

Hopefully Beth and Carol get out of there by the end of next episode, although my thoughts were when the kid said he wanted to get back to Richmond that him and Beth would end up going there and meeting up with Rick's group. Maybe now it will be him, Beth, and Carol all meeting Rick's group there.
It doesn't. They clearly showed all the halls and rooms were dark with monitors and medical equipment connected to banks of batteries on tables. In reality, the hospital they are filming at has also been dark for years. It is the old Newnan Hospital West that closed down a few years ago when they built a new hospital to replace both of the others.

If they had let everything get overgrown then it would have been perfect! They added window and rooftop views from Emory using digital effects. That hospital is walking distance from my mother's place where I grew up and "Terminus" is walking distance from my brother's apartment (where Melissa McBride AKA Carol lives).

Presumably so. Though it looks as if they will be focusing more on the ginger and mullet crew.

I had a funny thought as I was watching the 'next time on', that when they actually get close to leaving Georgia there will be giant barricades that will not allow them to leave. We will learn the zombie breakout is fully contained within Georgia and they are just deciding whether to napalm the whole place, or something else.

I guess what I am getting at, is we really have no idea what is going on in the rest of the world though I guess we can assume there would have been some sort of radio contact at some point if places elsewhere were still functioning in a relatively normal way.

KT
Sure we do. Noah said he left a place in Virginia which had walls. Abraham and Eugene fought their way here from Texas. That group that attacked Herschel and Rick in the bar back in season 2 were northerners. Not just GA.

Very handy for dopes like me who forget everything. I've actually considered going back to watch the early seasons again, but every time I do stupid Shane's ugly face pops in my head and I can't bear the thought of watching that guy lumber around with his terrible acting for 20+ episodes. Ugh.

KT
The character is the most real character that has been on the show. I've met many people in that region with the same personality and demeanor. The creators even said that he was *exactly* how they imagined the character. The frustration we felt watching him was the frustration we were supposed to feel.

uhh ok that was pretty embarrassing - the firetruck scene...

the pumps operate on power from the main engine, they arent like garden hoses where you can just take a powered down truck and open a valve and high pressure water shoots out... and the pressure, especially from the wide bore of that nozzle he was using is not enough to sever heads. geez.
I got that too and complained out loud as it was happening but I had an even bigger problem with what happened next. Basically, he knocked a bunch of walkers down with some water and they stayed down. WTF? No one even noticed the newly discovered walker weakness?!

...With Eugene as a fraud, going to DC has no point, so I'm assuming the group will double back and meet up with Rick and the gang. Surely they'd want to find a better place than that church that offers no protection or resources. After the ranch, the prison, Mayberry and slabtown, I wonder what the next longer term locale might be?
Supposedly, he is smarter and his decision is probably the most logical. Also, they mentioned
Slabtown in VA,
so I don't think that part has changed. They'll be moving on.

I liked tonight's episode! Love the urban settings much more than farms, forests and prisons

What's up with the new slow episodes? This felt like it was 5 minutes of story stretched out over an hour. Similar to the slow parts from last week's episode in the evening at the library.

And dang that part with Carol & the car got me!

I can almost guarantee the characters will end up in
Alexandria
just like the comic.

Why would a logical person go there? There is no way that area would make it, too many people/walkers nowhere to grow food. If It were me I'd head inland and away from population centers and to areas with lots of farmland and well water. Maybe wait out the first year in the national forest/parks a 2 hour drive north of Atlanta.

I bet the small farming communities outside of the big cities all survived. Once you get outside of the coast and major cities/suburbs the population density is crazy low. My landlord had a small farm he and his wife run for fun and they produce 60% of the vegetables they need for a family of 5. They only thing holding him back from growing more is that they don't have enough people to harvest since he has a full time tech job.

IF they had to go to an area with a population my money would be on Ft Benning surviving. Lots of soldiers, not that many people and a 2 hour drive from Atlanta.

The first part of tonight's episode is something I think I would have liked a lot if I were binge watching the show after the fact, but it was frustratingly slow when we're waiting to see what happens.

I'm glad Carol being caught by the white cross people wasn't part of a plan to get her into the hospital and break Beth out, because that would have been stupidly dangerous. Glad they're going back for what's left of Rick's group. Would be nice if Abraham were still around, this would be his time to shine.

Columbus, ga isn't exactly a small town. But then, Benning has tanks now. Brb surviving for weeks in a jump tower off stuff I looted from the airborne shoppette.

Best part of last night's ep was the walkers falling on top of the van from the bridge above.

Hmmm

T-Dog...Bob...Noah

How long do we think Noah will last. My bet is he will make it to next season before they kill him.

Heck yeah! Good enough to make me ignore the van landing right side up... Like a cat.

Maybe it'll land nose first, like a head on crash and the airbags/seat belts will work OKish.

Oh fuck it's flipping over and gonna land on the roof, not good.

Hmm, well I guess it either reversed it's spin or maybe just did an all out flip but it seemed to land on it's tires.

But yeah, the thud-thud-thud kinda made me forget/forgive that.

Comic spoiler-ish
plot-wise I don't think there's any reason they need to go there, they can just as easily do the Alexandria storyline in some other area of Georgia. In the comics they didn't find out about Eugene's deception until they were near Washington. But with Noah being from VA (IIRC) I think it's likely they head that way.

After they showed the van doing a vertical dive through the windshield... Editing should have cut out a few seconds earlier.

How do you know the hood didnt suddenly swing open and cause enough drag on the front that the rear end caught up to allow the van to fall level?

I really liked Darryl's reaction to Carol getting nabbed. You could see him trying to work out a solution but nothing would come to him. I can't wait to see him get some payback.

The editing on the flashback segment is not cut very well. Compared to the flashback segment on the show Lost, someone at TWD needs to go back to editing 101.

Agreed. Loved that.

The flashbacks were very strange in this episode. I did not understand the point of some of them.

LOST was the master of flashbacks and it gave depth to the characters. more importantly, made you care about them.
