Yeah, I liked this episode - especially because it had a little bit from all 3 separate story lines. The only part that annoyed me was Gabriel's apparent irrational behavior.

sasha actress is preggo in RL and I thought it would be awesome if they wrote it in as bobs child.

I have a theory that kids born of two infected parents end up immune. Nature has to find a way!

She did not look preggers on Talking Dead, and she said she was at 8 months.

her stomach looked pregnant, nothing else did.

last episode was meh, more filler really. expect nothing to happen or there be a cliff-hanger next week since it's the mid-season finale.

the part with Sasha and Bob 2 was so predictable.

I loved how Daryl reached into a walker mouth but is totally okay. Yeah, he didn't get bit but just like everything else (zombie blood/guts sprayed all over you) it's totally okay.

Oh then you can just rip a zombies head right off (implying the flesh is basically soft & gooey) but the skull is hard enough to wack a dude in the head to get him off you...meh.

Also it was totally predictable that "Bob" was going to get away. But overall the episode was still good.

I thought he avoided the mouth and grabbed the eye holes, like a bowling ball.

This definitely felt like a table setter episode for next week. Had some decent stuff, but overall it just felt like a transition episode. I actually liked the scene where Rick had the gun pointed at the cop and Daryl was trying to talk him out of blasting the guy away. Was pretty tense and well done. The melted zombies were pretty sweet too.

His fingers kind of went inside the mouth for a second when he first tried to reach for it. 2nd time he got the eyes.

This. The mouth was actually moving back and forth too, but never chomped down.

Just seemed a little...silly I guess.

I thought he just grazed the outside of the mouth. Not that it really matters.

Speaking of teeth, 1 of the guests on talking dead mentioned that everything on the zombies was decaying and falling off but they're teeth were just fine. Good dentists in the zombie apocalypse?

Many cadavers as they decompose keep the teeth in tact while the hair and face and subsequent soft tissue decompose. I am sure the ones that have been running around since Z day have started to lose some of the material holding the teeth in there.

How much killing do you think each zombie out there has really done? there are so few people and animals left that most of the zombies have been walking around with no action so their teeth would stay fairly well preserved. Im sure a walker that has felled dozens of people start to lose their jaw and teeth.

Hell the riot outfit basically makes you immune to bites doesnt it? Hit every police station in the state till you outfit your entire crew out.

How many Dicks sporting goods and Costcos are there out there? They gotta start looking for box stores thought they had some deaths when the ceiling caved in in a previous season.

Suspension of disbelief for 100 alex.

In fifteen years or so how many of the original walkers are there gonna be left?

I was totally fascinated by the humungous herd of walkers from the Michonne episiode a few years ago.

Are there huge walker herds moving south following the birds and sounds moving south naturally? Since they respond to sound I always want to groups to throw sound bombs and make huge bon fires outside of towns to draw all the walkers away from the food.

Blow some shit up outside of town while your in vehicles. Set up a thumper like the Dune folds and walk in easy peasy wearing a raincoat drenched in walker bits like Carol when she was on her own.

Realistically the only real threats now are other people. They mostly have the skills to survive if they act smart and have escape routes and multiple people holding a line with machetes and baseball bats. First line of bats goes in and hits the Zs in the face trying to knock them down and behind them like in the shield wall of sparta the younger soldiers and girls made sure all the falled were stabbed in the brain and rendered toast.

I still think they should sleep above ground. Would be easy to do since most homes have second floors and its easy to barricade the only staircase up. If the Zs get in the house you hit them from behind the barricade with a long stick into the eye or face.

good question. I have wondered if its salivary or blood borne or both. I also wonder how long its active after the Zombie is brain dead.

Shouldnt small cuts and open wounds be problematic like when Abraham was fighting?

Its probably not blood borne or we would have had more deaths from cuts already right? If its saliva then the really old walkers would be pretty dry eventually right?

I think its from the lungs. the noise the zombies make they are basically pushing up materials from their lungs and throat. Wish we could test a zombie or two and isolate the condition. Why didnt the CDC dickhead tell us this!

They have already said that everyone is infected. If you die from anything you turn unless your brain is damaged. They have also said that the bites/scratches cause an infection which kills you.

Yeah, I don't think there is an actual infectious agent delivered by bite or scratch from a zombie.
What happens is the decaying zombie is riddled with nasty bacteria, so basically any contact from them that breaks the skin is going to always result in some nasty staph or similar infections. If that infection is allowed to spread through the body, sepsis will kill you pretty damn quick. Amputation works because that prevents if the infection has taken serious hold yet, and thus hasn't reached the bloodstream, then that's that.

The writers may NOT be working on the principal of bacterial infection and are actively working under the principal of a specific zombie infection agent, but for all intents and purposes, it appears to be one in the same. Whether the characters acknowledge it is a specific infectious/virulent agent, or bites/scratches is simply a perfect delivery for potential sepsis, doesn't seem clear. They've assumed actual zombification agent/infection before, but I don't know how they view it now.

Biologically, there shouldn't be any zombie-specific infectious agent delivered via a scratch, so that seems to support the idea that instances of zombie attack are simply a perfect means of delivering nasty infections that lead to sepsis.
If they could get to a hospital and treat the sepsis, if we are working under this theory, then someone could theoretically survive a perfect zombie bite. Even more likely--as surviving full-blown sepsis, even with first-world medical treatment, has quite low odds--is the idea that medical intervention could prevent a simply localized infection from scaling into sepsis. Treat a bite wound properly from the start, likely removing tissue, full-course antibiotics, skin grafts, the whole works, and that person should survive.

Of course, it's also all fictional work (the comic, the show, the entire concept of zombies), so it really is a moot point.
