I think only a few days have passed though. I mean, Daryl and Beth split up and he chased them until morning. Then happened upon the group of bikers. A day or so later they met up with Rick, Carl, and Michonne. They then traveled to Terminus (maybe a day?) and were captured for another couple days at most. It hasn't been months.

the pumps operate on power from the main engine, they arent like garden hoses where you can just take a powered down truck and open a valve and high pressure water shoots out... and the pressure, especially from the wide bore of that nozzle he was using is not enough to sever heads. geez.

As for the second point, I'm guessing they couldn't use full crowd-control blast to avoid injuring the real people being hit by water.

Well, it's good to see Eugene's secret come out - I actually would be glad if he's dead he's completely useless but I am worried about Abraham now that his sole reason left to live is gone.

First point about power... probably.

I used to be a firefighter - the pumps on all the trucks operated off the main engine. There's actually a special gear you throw it into (next to drive/reverse/neutral, yeah all the trucks were automatic transmissions) IIRC it was called PTO and that transfer the power from the drive train to the special pump transmission.

K, "probably" just in case because I don't know anything about fire trucks.

But knowing some fluid mechanics, you aren't getting a dozen meters of head out of a tank unless its pressurized, the reservoir is sitting a dozen meters above, or there's a pump.

I thought the same thing when I was watching, how the heck can you blast water from such a truck without anything powering a pump?? That was complete fail.

It's plenty of pressure to sever heads when those heads are the squishy soft zombie variety .... unless of course that zombie grabs someone, in which case the jaws and hands become vice-grips of doom

Overall not a particularly interesting episode. I suspected all along that Eugene was full of it, so now at least that's done with. I loved the walker ranch setting though. Trying to get through that would make a cool episode.

The little romp in the bookstore between Abraham and the girl made me think of how absolutely nasty things must be in that world. No showers for all these folks , in the middle of Georgia with no AC... and the stench of rotting corpses (moving or not) must be pleasant, I'm sure nothing says "romance" more than such a setting

They didn't explain in the episode what exactly happened between Abraham, his family and those other guys, I found on in watching the 'talking dead' afterwards what was going on. I don't think they did a good job explaining that setting in the episode.

This is a show where a machete can cut clear through a skull with one swipe (at least since season 3).

I was surprised that Eugene revealed his deceit so early. Since they're only ~15 miles from the church I wonder if they'll go back to Rick's group now. There's no more urgency to get to DC.

Maggie commented on Darryl and Carol being missing, but once again completely forgot about her sister Beth.

kinda sad to see Eugene being a con. He is essentially the priest. Same character flaws. Thought the cure angle gave it a nice sci fi angle but alas shits fucked up and the entire group now will lose hope.

Dude is gonna get an infection in that hand and die probably. His will is shot though Rosita could probably make the apocolipse bearable once in a while


pacing was off in this episode. The bus accident was stupid as was the tension between the small group.

That episode was kinda meh to me compared to the last few

The part where they were in the book store/library was a total waste for me - not sure if just my TV or not, but my screen was basically pitch black for about 5 minutes. People were talking, but fuck if I knew what was going on.

Now that Eugene's secret is out, we need a new comic book spoiler for us tv people to bitch about.

Upon first viewing, I thought the episode was just ok. I watched it again, with friends that hadn't seen it, and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Some, because I really appreciated the good parts even better. And also, since I knew the unrealistic parts were coming, they were easier to dismiss.

They didn't explain in the episode what exactly happened between Abraham, his family and those other guys, I found on in watching the 'talking dead' afterwards what was going on. I don't think they did a good job explaining that setting in the episode.

That's a bit of a trend this year. Same with Tyrese not killing the dude in the cabin. We shouldn't need a talk show for us to fully understand what happened.

Another thing... The truck was covered with zombie goo. Sorry, but assuming it has been sitting there a while, a few Georgia rain storms would have washed it mostly clean of the blood...

So yeah, that didn't add up.
