From what I can figure:
1. The quarry incident was a fluke (zombies escaping on their own)
2. The Wolves intended to ruin the town; the semi-truck was full of zombies to release
3. The walkers headed towards Alexandria was not anyone's plan
Alternatively, the Wolves rigged up the quarry as a distraction. Maybe. But they could have left team members to take out Rick's crew in the woods if that was the case. Maybe that's what Rick is talking about in the preview when he says to kill anything that gets in your way.
The one thing that really ticked me off in this episode is how lax everyone was under siege. Morgan just kind of walks everywhere, and lets a dude take a gun. That's going to come back to haunt them later. Carol chills pondering the cigarettes for awhile. I've finally accepted the fact that the villagers are dumb. Finally Deanna is realizing how vastly unprepared they are, as she realizes that she herself will just be a liability back inside the town if she tries to help.
It was an intense episode. Really really good. A million times better than the whole FTWD series I'm curious as to why they showed Enid's backstory...she's obviously going to come into play later. Poor turtle I also accept the preacher now...he's finally woken up to the reality that he lives in.
One of the things I like to think about is what I would do differently. Like, there's no real alarm system for the whole town to go into armed & ready mode. Why not use the baby video camera up in the clocktower to keep an eye on the main road? There's a million ways they could be safer, but they still need to move the plot along & they do it in such a good way that I don't mind the details like that.
Oh, and Carol is awesome.
