So, they all defenselessly walked right under that overpass and up to the wall of logs with their backs turned because one of them, Rick, has wreckless emotions/tendencies sometimes?

Sorry. "Bad writing" makes a LOT more sense. You give them too much credit.

You're moving the goalpost. I wasn't arguing whether the whole episode had good or bad writing. On the contrary, I was merely pointing out that your Rick was not at all like Rick was not factual.

That scene was sloppy, sure, but I wouldn't argue that the entire episode or that sequence of roadblocks had been bad writing. I am curious if that series of actions was ripped out of the comic series or the writers' own creation.

Plus the acting IMO on FTWD is subpar, minus the cracked out heroin kid.

I agree, Brandon Lee reborn isn't bad.

I couldn't believe it either. That show fucked so many people up the ass so many different ways it should be considered a crime against humanity. I can only conclude that the people who liked the ending think being ass raped is great fun.

I liked the Lost ending... I haven't tried butt-stuff, but who knows!

I liked the ending too. I think I was a little let down because that type of ending had been discussed for so long as a likely and inevitable conclusion, based on the different themes of the show, so to see it play out exactly like many imagined was a bit of a bummer. But in retrospect, they handled it well.

And, shocker, I also liked the new Battlestar Galactica ending. Granted, if they had went a different direction the last season it could have ended better, but for the storyline they took the show down, I really liked it.

I stopped caring about BSG in the latter seasons but kept watching, so it could have ended with unicorns and I'd have been satisfied just because I knew how it ended.

...Rick and crew come across a wall of logs with a bridge behind them and they all file out of the vehicle like it isn't a [perfect] kill zone with enemies lined up on the bridge behind them? They're lucky they weren't all gunned down right there because Negan wanted something else. That's not cautious, careful, calculating, "classic Rick." That's stupid anti-Rick.
...Rick is not always cautious, careful, and calculating. He has had numerous knee-jerk reactions and decisions that don't always work out all that well. He is emotional, and doesn't always contain that side of him. In fact, he's often out of control, which is often his most obvious character trait.
So, they all defenselessly walked right under that overpass and up to the wall of logs with their backs turned because one of them, Rick, has wreckless emotions/tendencies sometimes?

I reiterated what you replied to. See bold.

I would. Why do we spend so much time on these insufferably cliché arguments about who's going and who's staying any time they ever have to go anywhere? First it's between Enid and Carl and then they intersperse Sasha/Abaham ("package deal") and Eugene trying to appeal to Rick to let them all come. It was all maddeningly stupid. Half-way through the episode and that's all we had other than Morgan/Carol.

Speaking of Carol/Morgan, their part is so contrived and pointless all I could do was laugh. Why does EVERY character have some crisis of conscience and then have to find themselves while someone tries to appeal to them? It's like "Well, Carol's turn. Are we really going to do this now? No choice: we can't think of anything else compelling for her character on the Hilltop run."

To answer your question on the comics
The roadblocks were not in the books. They were caught unaware on the way back home. For some reason in the books they would just set up camp here and there and continue their journeys in the daylight. Something about not really being sure where they were, and things looking different at night. Negan's crew sneaks up on them and the fun begins.

The one thing i thought was funny after seeing the end scene again was how Rick went from being Mr. BadAss to "we can talk about this" once he was outgunned. Still such a stupid ending...so so stupid..

I've decided to not watch TWD or FTWD anymore. TWD has really always been a show I watched for 2 minutes of good TV surrounded by 40 minutes of crap. FTWD is just.. not good. I'll spend my ~25 hours a year doing something I enjoy more.

That's why I love the internet.

Take the walking dead for example. I went straight to Negan's scene. I watched what transpired and that's it. No commercials. No bullsh,*t. Straight to what interested me. Found it. That's it.

I might go back and watch season 6 in a year or two. Maybe.

Perfect .gif for some of you whiny bitches in this thread.

Is there a perfect gif to encapsulate people who aren't very discriminating and will watch any old trash without complaint?

We simply don't want them to get away with shoveling that kinda crap TV down our throats just because we're already invested and some people will defend their production choices no matter what.

Maybe there's a .gif for those who think they have to keep watching a show even when they get to a point of not enjoying it anymore just so they can complain online about how they don't enjoy it anymore or how stupid the "production choices" are.

Novel thought...stop watching the fucking show if you don't like how it's going anymore...pretty goddamn simple.

This show now runs on the sunk cost effect:

This was the last post with any actual content before yours:

...then IN you come with your characterization of the people making such posts. You then chastise us for not thinking the novel thought that they already thought and already explicitly stated.

Threatening not to watch it was part of the "whiny bitch" protest you are protesting, genius.

That isn't the type of person I was "characterizing", dipshit.

There are several in this thread who have done nothing but bitch and whine about the show but have not stated once that they have plans to stop watching.

So try and keep up and at least get your assumptions right...genius.

We voice the complaints we think are valid and express our displeasure with their decisions. If the show doesn't address our complaints, we stop watching. He's not the only person who said he'd stop watching or stop watching regularly. Man up. Now who's being a "whiney bitch?!"

I'm all set to stop watching. I gave up on this show a couple of seasons back. The woman of the house unfortunately hadn't given up on it and so I watch it with her as we only have so many hours to watch TV. I'm not sure if she'll give up on it now, as she was also really disappointed with the way they left it, but until she does I'll be sitting through it. There's still a small hope it'll get better but even if it does I will still reserve the right to point out things I don't like as much, if not more than things I do like.

I do thank God that I don't have to sit through Fear the Walking Dead. There's only so much of this formula I can take.

Just finished the season. Was kinda intense but at same time I really hope they change something in the story line and more major turning points happen, I find it's getting too repetitious. Same old deal, running into bad batshit crazy people, trying to defend etc...

What ever happened to all the RPGs they had, they could have come in handy in the last few seasons. They only used one. Though there is that random sand pit scene at the very beginning where they used RPGs if I recall, but no idea what that was about. I figured it was some kind of foreshadowing but they never went back to it. Or maybe I missed it.

Really I think the show needs to end, I have a feeling even the writers don't know where to go anymore. We need something interesting and different to happen and a huge turning point that ends up solving everything and the normal world starting back again.

I heard that they're going to introduce some sort of mysterious black smoke next season that eats both people and zombies.

Seriously though, yeah, the show needs to give us something we haven't seen before or it needs to go away. If they don't get their shit together next season, I'm going to start to just read the summaries of the episodes. It's not worth investing the time anymore and given the ratings, you know that they're going to milk this for at least 2 more seasons.
