]Really I think the show needs to end, I have a feeling even the writers don't know where to go anymore. We need something interesting and different to happen and a huge turning point that ends up solving everything and the normal world starting back again.

I don't get this line of reasoning at all. This show is based on established material (the comic books). For the most part what is happening on the show is what happened in the comics. Of course creative liberties are taken, but the basic story is the same. Do you want the writers to abandon the comics and just start making a new story line? The writers don't need to know where to go, the map is already laid out for them. They just need to perhaps do a better job of presenting that story in a different format (TV instead of print).

The "normal world starting back up again" isn't part of the show's source material. Why would the TV show do something like that? That's like saying "I think Game of thrones needs to have more happy, long lived people in it".

I recently started to catch on with Fear the Walking Dead. Why was that offshoot even made when this is apparently the same (haven't really watched this)? I don't get it.

The offshoot was made because the original was hugely popular with a rabid fan base that doesn't want to wait 6+ months for more episodes.

When I first got into the show, near the end of season 4, I binge watched the first three seasons and then finished season 4 during a marathon on AMC. Knowing I had a long wait for season 5, I started reading the source material.

Then the real waiting began. The show was at an all time high for popularity so I thought to myself that they should start doing spin-offs. It'd be like printing money and fans would get more to chew on. Then I found out that Fear was already in the works. IMO they just need a couple more spin-offs so we have new Walking dead eps year round.

Anybody waiting for this show to be "resolved" is in for disappointment.

Just finished the season. Was kinda intense but at same time I really hope they change something in the story line and more major turning points happen, I find it's getting too repetitious. Same old deal, running into bad batshit crazy people, trying to defend etc...

What ever happened to all the RPGs they had, they could have come in handy in the last few seasons. They only used one. Though there is that random sand pit scene at the very beginning where they used RPGs if I recall, but no idea what that was about. I figured it was some kind of foreshadowing but they never went back to it. Or maybe I missed it.

I also was thinking about the RPGs, particularly for the first roadblock they ran across. But someone said that they used 1 or 2 of them to start the fire when the wall was down in Alexdrania. I don't remember anything about a sand pit.

I think he means the quarry, but that was well before they got the RPGs.

As I look back on the the season, it was really stupid for the group not to do their homework before going after Negan's group. That alone was uncharacteristic.

Not really.. hubris is everyone's downfall. At this point Rick and crew stupidly thought they were the only ones that were truly bad ass. The idea that there's someone out there stronger than them didn't click until it was too late. All those speeches about how they were the only ones that could defend people, and how they could take things if they wanted foreshadowed what was coming.
