Despite this thread actually starting during season 8, I'll just post in it as I don't think there are many Walking Dead fans here since this was last active in in February. However, I've watched the show since it started, and after painfully watching through season 9 so far, I am done. Just so much suck this season.....
The start of season 9:
At the start of the season, they advertise these being the last episodes with Rick. Garbage lady is with Gabriel. Then when the time comes, he miraculously survives, and the annoying garbage lady sees him lying on the river bank after he had been blown off of a bridge when he detonated dynamite. So she saves him, and whisks him off on a helicopter that apparently nobody else heard, or saw fly in and land. Still have no idea what the hell an "A" or "B" means?
The next episodes
The show resumes and is now 6 years in the future. Maggie is MIA. Carol looks like an old crazy cat lady. Daryl decided to live in the forest by himself. Judith is the new Carl, and wears the hat, gun, and is annoyingly optimistic about people and the future.. They save a new group of people, which one is deaf so the group is constantly signing to communicate (have to read a lot of subtitles), and one of the characters weapon of choice is.....a sling shot.
The mid-season finale:
Jesus dead despite having several slow motion ninja scenes killing zombies. Gets stabbed in the back by a person wearing a walker's skin in a foggy cemetery. They really underutilized his character altogether. Gabriel forgets to lock the jail door where Negan is, so he just walks right out and escapes with nobody noticing. Why? Because he was distracted after hearing news that Rosita was injured, and somehow they are now a couple.
The actor who left wasn't even upset about it - the untapped potential of that character compared to the comic was too frustrating and he was happy to see it end. I can't even watch it anymore after tonight. I thought I'd give it a chance after the three huge recent departures that weren't in the comic but this character tonight was just too much. You're right - they're not even trying anymore.

lol "the garbage lady." I didn't like the garbage lady until that one episode, maybe midway through this season, where she had Negan captured and it showed her digs in that shipping container. Then I saw she had a bangin body and with the new hair-do I was like "y helo thar." I'm now a fan of garbage lady.
Judith being ridiculously optimistic and trusting of people like Coral, LMAO. So much fail
Carol's hair-do looks like f'ing feces. *Shudder* Her short hair was way better
Despite the stupid/goofy shit in the plot in The Walking Dead, I still think it's better than Fear the Walking Dead. That show is so f'ing stupid, mainly this season, that I don't even care if I watch it next season. But I <3 <3 <3 June/Naomi/Laura
Yup, I just watched the episode and now I understand.
Real shame. In fact a lot of people were underused and then shipped off. I guess they just have too many characters and the writers dont know what to do with them.

At least when all her fellow garbage people were killed, she started talking normally and it was much better. I couldn't stand their "garbage speak" in the style of "Me Tarzan. You Jane". I wish the show kept the new Janice, and got rid of Tara. She is the most boring character, and I have a feeling she is going to run Hilltop now that Jesus is gone.
Another thing I've noticed since Negan killed Glenn and Abraham, and social media exploded with people crying about the violence, they've really toned down the tense scenes. I know they issued a public apology, but the scenes like the cannibals at Terminus, and when Rick bit the dude's face really sold the lawless nature of a world like that, and what many humans would do to live.
