Unbelievable....I have never had a more intense and emotion packed gaming experience in my entire life. I did not know what to expect going into this game but my lord I just had to come on here and say to anyone that has not played this game yet, I would highly recommend that you grab all of season one and season two and start playing immediately. I have been on a binge for the past two days, I just reached Season 2 Episode 4 and I cannot wait to begin. So far I have laughed, I have cried, and I have jumped on more than one occasion and still I cannot stop playing. I can't wait for more.

I must say however, at the end of season one I was really disappointed that I had spent so much time and effort in Lees character that I did not know if season two could pull me in. Well after having playing season 2 up to the end of episode 3 I must say this whole season has had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

I have been meaning to pick these up. Just haven't done so yet. Probably will this week.

You will not be disappointed. Its like watching a movie, 70% is making text based choices and 30% is actual gameplay. However, you feel as if every one of your choices actually matters. Over time you start to have feelings towards characters some will get on your nerve, others will reserve a warm spot in your heart. How you handle these emotions is up to you, the fate of those around you is partially determined by your choices. The more you play this game, the more your true inner self starts to come to life. You start to make decisions based on who you actually are, you feel as if you are actually there with these characters. Its hard to explain, its just something you need to experience for yourself. Some may not like this type of game style, but others will eat it up in a heart beat. I say go for it, they usually have this game on sale for $20 or less per season. If you can snag em up for that price, I'd say pull the trigger.

That's deep man! I loved The Wolf Among us, is The Walking dead much the same? Gotta check it out.

TWAU is modeled after TWD, little bit more action because your a powerful Fairy Tail character. But TWD is probably a more suspenseful and thrilling experience. Both are canon for their respective subjects, the Fable comics and TWD comics. But Wolf is prequel dealing with a lot of characters that are still alive, so they have their hands tied. TWD is side canon with barely any cameo's so its like the TV on crack, everybody is up for grabs by the next episode.

Now what the OP said is true it feels like every choice is important. But its not Mass Effect. Most choices work their way out of the game within an episode or two. The ones that don't will work its way out by the end of the season because everyone has to be at the same point with the same characters by the end so they don't have to deal with the different combinations in the next season. You really notice it in Season two as it gets harder for them hide these eventualities. Season one though made you feel as though your choices were more important than the ones in Wolf. And hid it the eventualities a lot better. You think it's your choices and only your choices that made the season end like it did.

So how much you lose if instead of playing the game you just watch it on Youtube (for free)?

Hard to say, but since you wouldn't be investing in any characters, and only watching the choices someone else makes you probably wouldn't get as much out of it.

My wife watched me play it and helped make decisions and actually was crying by the end, and she never plays video games.

I agree with you, eventually you start to catch on to the technical limitations of an adaptive story. In the end only a few choices are possible and all players will have to end up on either path eventually.

I must say, I just started playing TWAU and I have fallen in love with the story. I feel so bad ass playing as Bigby. In TWD I usually took the safe and caring route with all of my decisions. Its very refreshing to be able to curse and get into incredible fights with people who piss me off in this one. I think Telltale games has really created something special with this form of episodic game play. Both of these games have kept me peeled longer than any game I have played in the past.

Anyone know if the Back to the Future game is worth a shot? I am going to assume it plays nothing like either of these games.

I enjoyed Back to The Future. It was a fun game, but it is closer to Tales of Monkey Island than The Walking Dead. Of course Tales of Monkey Island is also an incredible game.

Normally not my cup of tea, but this game is definitely good.
Amazing voice-acting, amazing story etc.

I never heard of this game before but I am amazed seeing the great user ratings on Metacritic etc. Thanks for the tip, definitely enjoying this game.

Edit: I personally find there is enough interaction as to not make it seem like just watching a movie.

The wife and I are a huge fan of these games. I'm in charge of the "gaming" part and she picks dialogue. She can be quite the bloodthirsty little lady.

Another fan of the series here, also a fan of the TV show, even bought the Darryl Dixon based game for the wife as she is also a huge TWD fan.

Good news for everyone as they confirmed there will be a season 3 on Skybound's Twitter on the 26th.

IMO, This game series is the strongest out of it, the TV show, and the comics. The show is almost pure melodrama that can be frustrating and tiring to watch at times and the comics are more like junk food entertainment (my own bias) that leave me wanting something more substantial. The game has almost stolen the universe from Kirkman and the TV show.

Season 3 is confirmed too. No surprise there, but hopefully it means there will be many more seasons to come after. Or, at least enough to have a satisfying end to the series.

Honestly I dumped the TV-show a long time ago, it drove me crazy. It started good but then I started to hate it after they went to melodrama as you said. And that kid always acting like an idiot, somebody should have shot him. I think that would have upped the ratings a whole lot.

And yes go stand next to the zombie and get bitten like a retard!

I loved Season 1, one of the best game experiences of last year for me. I'm waiting until all of Season 2 is out to buy it at once - I'll go crazy playing it piecemeal.

I think watching it on youtube would be kind of enjoyable, but you miss the rush of solving puzzles and exploring the levels thoroughly at your own pace.

Season 1 was awesome. I already bought Season 2, but haven't started it yet. Waiting until it gets completely released.

Is it a first person shooter, third person RPG, Minecraft clone, or what? Personally I'm more particular about mechanics than subject, and even though I'm pretty "meh" about zombies I do love a good survival shooter.

None of the above.

It is an adventure game, although it deviates quite a bit from those as well. It is similar to other Tell Tale Games adventure games, especially The Wolf Among Us. If you haven't played any of those, the closest adventure game I know of is Free bird games' To The Moon, which is similarly awesome!

Oh. Thanks for the info. I assume there is the possibility of getting killed?

I don't play that sort of game, but my wife does. I sometimes watched her play the Syberia games just because they are so pretty. I'd buy this one except she won't play one with any violence or chance of getting killed.

The irony is that I've already bought this game on Steam for my adult son who is a huge Walking Dead fan, yet I still had no clue what it was like.

Yes, death is possible. The game is designed around emotions not violence though. It is far closer to a drama than a standard video game. It puts you in difficult situations with stressful relations with other people and forces you to make tough decisions. There is very little direct violence in the game.

EDIT: Since your wife likes this kind of game but doesn't like violence, I suggest To The Moon. It is very short, but is one of the most memorable games I have ever played. Hell, it is one of the most memorable things I have ever experienced.

Don't think I can do anymore zombies. After HL2, HL EP1, HL EP2, Fallout 3, New Vegas, Left 4 Dead 1&2, Metro 33 + Last Light, all 3 Stalker games, Borderlands 1&2 I'm pretty zombied out. Same thing holds for dragons. Just get me away from them lol. Game devs been beating hell out of the same ideas

I never thought of Fallout ghouls as zombies, but during Who Dares Wins on my latest play-through of Fallout 3 I caught the reference to the ghouls having no body heat. Oh well, better late than never. lol

Well TWD is probably older than most of these, but Zombies are more of a backdrop for why its a post apocalyptic environment. Kind of like TLOU. Also half of those aren't zombie games. At most they have a small amount of Zombie like opponents. But mindless footsoldier fodder is pretty much a shooter staple.

To anyone thinking of picking this up, make sure to play TWD 400 Days before you play season 2. Its a short little filler, but it carries over to season 2 well.
