So Texas has finally had enough of the War on Christmas and Texan lawmaker Dwayne Bohac has introduced legislation to protect it in schools.

" The Republican lawmaker from Houston has introduced legislation to protect traditional Christmas greetings, decorations and displays in public schools. The bill is appropriately titled, “Merry Christmas Bill.”

Why is there a war on Christmas? What do these people get out of it and why do they insist on "happy holidays and holiday trees" even when those dont make sense because Christmas uses the Christmas tree.

This isn't the only case , there was a case in Texas where a utility company removed Christmas banners on its fence.

i think while we shouldnt offend people, i remember as a kid how we used to have christmas performances and we sang during K-2nd grade with performances for our parents. would they take that awaY?

I always think of how when I have kids I'd love to videotape them, but if we're gonna be all PC and remove these traditions, I think we're going too far.

I consider your stance to be extremely selfish. Winter celebrations predate your made up celebration by a long shot. I say "made up" because your religion could not manage to ban a pagan celebration because it was just too popular and widespread. So they created the fable that it was Jesus's birthday and said the celebration belonged to them.

And I call you selfish because of your demand that only your beliefs be honored, and exclude all other winter celebrations.

Your "celebrate Christmas of get out of the country" marks you as an asshole and un-American in my opinion.

The use of the word "holiday" in greetings and names for such things as decorations is an easy way to respect everyone's ways of celebrating even if you have no clue as to what they are. If you think that being all inclusive in such things diminishes your religion, then you have a piss poor opinion of your religion.

I am not selfish, remember that the US is a Christian country and we shouldn't have to pander to special interest groups and other religions, they can celebrate their holidays but dont try to put down Christmas.

I never said people who dont celebrate Christmas should leave but the people that are trying to end it and wage the war should leave, there is a difference.
