It's an embarrassment to humans that you manage to be this fucking stupid.

It's not about his smarts, it's about his being just another propaganda parrot. It's about deliberately spreading falsehoods as far as possible and to as many people as possible. Deliberately sowing the seeds of dissension, fear, hate. That's what it's about.

'It *can* happen here' and people are working hard at trying to make it so.

Again the left manufactures the victim mentality and blames white people. Maybe we just need more affirmative action?

Today's targets: VeggieTales, the NFL, White women that support Trump.

I'm a white male, just trying to make it through life as best I can like everyone else. I have not been the beneficiary of scholarships or affirmative action. I've never owned any other human being, and as far as I'm aware no one in my family has. Amazing how today the left has made it so it is ok to blame and talk about white people as a group causing issues in society, but only is it ok to talk about that single demographic is such a way. Just another day in the world the racist left has created.

Progressives are just fine with prejudice and racism when the right groups are targeted.

Yeah, like targeting Nazis and those who sympathize with them or appropriate their beliefs, symbols and methods. Definitely prejudiced there, you got me. Guilty as charged.

Supporting affirmative action is racism just like not calling back someone for an interview because of their skin color or name one associates with a given race. Any Democrat

If a Nazi shot five black men we'd all be up in arms and demand justice, the Republicans would disavow any connection to that far right group and certainly condemn the violence.

Now compare the left with this incident.

Anyway, you guys have made this thread about me and not the subject. You guys continually ignore anti-white garbage while making victims where there were none for others.

You continue to support your positions with bullshit. Nobody here condoned Dallas cops being shot. No one called the shooter a “very fine person”., strike one. You don’t get to compare the denigration of Black people just because they are black to AA. A debate over a policy dispute is a different discussion. I asked you for an example Similar to the ads and robo call put out against Andrew Gillum and you came up small.

Your argument comes up small on a second point. Biggest beneficiary of AA are white women.

Would be better if this sock puppets Fwd Fwd Fwd posts went to the bottom without a single reply rather than half of them turning into a thread with 95% of posts pointing out how absurd he is and his hardly returning to the thread. Unfortunately, I can understand the entertainment value of pointing out just how ridiculous his posts are and what that becomes. I succumb myself from time to time.

The Christian cartoon “VeggieTales” is racist because the villains are vegetables of color. The NFL is racist since most players are black and most coaches and owners are white. White women advance white supremacy when they support President Donald Trump.

These are some of the arguments made by students at a “Whiteness Forum” held at Cal State San Marcos on Thursday that aimed to take a “critical look at whiteness,” according to organizers.

What in the name of, er, God, is "Veggie Tales"? If all the villains are portrayed as being 'of color' while the other characters are not, then I suppose that does sound racist, if perhaps unconciously so. Though how significant a cultural entity is this thing?

The NFL may-or-may-not be afflicted with racism (my guess would be 'may') but the races of the owners and players is fairly obviously a consequence of the US, and ultimately European, history of racism.

And damn right white women at least hoped to preserve (if not 'advance') white supremacy when they voted for Trump.

That last one seems kind-of obvious, the first two being less clear to me.

(I continue to be annoyed by those green/orange bars - I mention it because I only notice them when Spyder is in the thread, otherwise they are all the same so I don't see them, but every time I see his orange bar I feel patronized by the forum software - I'll decide what I think of his posts, not some stupid colored graphic)

The negative reaction to Colin Kaepernick’s protests was heavily racialized. People attempted to claim it wasn’t but that’s because nobody ever wants to admit to being a racist and sadly a large portion of the NFL fan base is extremely racist. The easiest way to see that it was about the ‘who’ and ‘what’ that was being protested as opposed to the how is that people who complained about him were repeatedly asked how Kaepernick should have protested instead of kneeling that would have been okay. They couldn’t answer. Why? Because black people protesting is what the real problem was.

This is why Kaepernick is blackballed for kneeling when numerous other people in the NFL have done horrendous things. Michael Vick murdered dogs and came back and played. Ray Lewis pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in a double homicide that he most likely participated in and was named Super Bowl MVP the next year. The fans don’t care about that stuff, they care about black people getting uppity.

I can believe that - it's just that it (the NFL) is not a topic I've ever paid attention to, so can't claim to know much about it myself.

Can you imagine the outrage if there was a brownness forum or something like that and white people just complained about brown people? We'd all agree that's out of line and seems pretty racist. This thread just shows how far gone even mainstream liberals are today. They are not at all for equality, they are for privilege and white guilt.

This is on the level of ‘why isn’t there a white history month?!’

We get it though, you’re a victim and you’re terribly picked on. If only you had lucked out and been a black guy I’m sure your life would be so much better.

Bullshit. Again you lumping both Liberals and the Far Left together and acting like they are the same group. They are not even close.

I don't think so, the replies here show that one doesn't have to be considered "far left" to be part of the far left. Racists fighting for racism.

I've been directly affected by affirmative action. I didn't mope about it, I picked up where I left off and kept on trucking. I know today you lefties push the idea of being a victim, every time life gets hard to blame someone else. But I guess I'm made of backbone where you're full of shit.
You sure do have a misguided and inherently false opinion of your worth to society!!

I think it's pretty well established now, by OP's own words, that his "wokeness" is the result of a more qualified "dirty" minority being hired over his superior whiteness--thus, OP fashions himself a "victim" of Affirmative Action, and so a true white knight in the crusade against progress and equity. He has since sought only the internet forums and resources that champion his pre-conceived biases and stoke his racial animus. It is no other way, this is the OP.

A true hero, this discarded husk.

You might be surprised to learn that there may be racism against blacks on the progressive left as well (specifically they assume blacks are cognitively inferior to themselves and dumb down their speech accordingly). This has recently been demonstrated with a peer reviewed paper coming out of Princeton and Yale.

Here are the highlights:
Now that an Ivy League study has quantified the patronizing racial attitudes of white liberals, I can rest comfortably, knowing that I’m not alone in my belief that well-intentioned whites sometimes speak down to black people.

In a study called Self Presentation in Interracial Settings: The Competence Downshift by White Liberals, two professors from Princeton and Yale found that white liberals “patronize minorities stereotyped as lower status and less competent.” The study found that white conservatives don’t tend to do that.
The dichotomy brings to mind the adage I’ve often heard from older blacks. It goes something like this: I’d rather deal with white folks from down South. At least with them you know where you stand.

In other words, white liberals are sometimes just as racist as white conservatives. They just hide it better, and, for black folks, that’s harder to navigate.

People aim to appear warm or competent by displaying certain behaviors that they believe will elicit these attributions from others (Jones & Pittman, 1982). They smile and laugh at parties to gain liking; they subtly mention accomplishments during interviews in hopes of garnering respect. Engaging in such self-presentation with the goal of eliciting certain attributions from others constitutes impression management (Goffman, 1959; Jones & Pittman, 1982; Leary, 1995; Schlenker & Pontari, 1973).

One principle of impression management is expressing similarity: reciprocal warmth, shared opinions, and comparable accomplishments (Lydon, Jamieson, & Zanna, 1988; Rosenfeld, Giacalone, & Riordan, 1995; Wayne & Ferris, 1990).
One way in which people express similarity is by matching their partners’ expectations, going along with what they believe their partner expects in order
to get along (Sinclair, Lowery, Hardin, & Colangelo, 2005; Swencionis & Fiske, 2016). Absent detailed information about their partner, people may also
express similarity by matching their own expectations about their partner, going along with their initial impressions in order to get along.

Among these expectancies are category-based stereotypes. Well-intentioned impression managers may try to match even their negative stereotype of an outgroup member, in efforts to “get on their level.” Getting along with a lower-status group may entail presenting oneself as less competent or lower in status—
that is, “getting down with the people.”

Do you adjust your speech based on your audience? I admit that I do and it is completely dishonest and says something pretty bad about me as a person. A hockey dad I know says it is his mission in life to use the same language and speak the same way no matter who his audience is. It is probably the correct and moral way to live your life but you have to be a damn saint to actually live by it.
