I'm sure that's a viable reason for the Doors.

My vote is for the Who simply because *gasp* I like their songs more.

What a choise both are legends. Jim Morrison's lyrics will forever be top of the line, while few can beat Townsend on the guitar. I like the Doors, I pretty much keep one of their Albulms in the changer all the time, Currently Soft Parade. LA Woman is one of my all time faviorates though.

Since Jim Morrison died in 1970 the Doors can hardly be classified as a '70's band, both the Doors and The Who peaked in the 60's.

I wonder if Jim Morrison, Jim Hendrix, &amp; Janis Joplin are Jamming somewhere now? Heck they might even let Kurt Kobain listen!

I'm gonna have to say the doors. I have been a BIG doors fan for a long time, read the bio on him titled &quot;No one here gets out alive&quot; And I have heard and have every single album made. And i'm not talking about the trendy &quot;Best of the Doors&quot; i hate that CD. I hate all of those Best of....its such a poor representation of what they really are, and makes songs like &quot;light my fire&quot; soooo played out. There are soooo many other better songs, and James Douglas Morrison was a poetic genius. (thanks to all them drugs) actually he was already like that, it was only the drugs that stimulated it and influenced the ideas already there. So inconclusion, THE DOORS by 10000000 miles ahead!

I dont think there are any winners here. These bands produced music that only the listener can either reject or accept. I for one accepted to the poems of James. Its not a question of which were the best, mainly how you related to the band, regarding your taste and experience.
