Does anyone know if the ZXT-120 IR Extender works with the Wink Hub. I can pair it under thermostats but it just doesn't work

Anyone know if the sensor has to be aligned with the 'Narrow" edges face to face. It will be extremely difficult, perhaps impossible for me to do it in that manner for both my windows & doors. I know that the magnet has to 1/8 inch from sensor, but will it work probably if the narrow edge of the magnet is against the wide portion of the sensor.

I have the magnet turned 90 degrees and stuck to the door of my mailbox with the tripper stuck to the side. Works fine. (mailbox is plastic)

I have mine set up in a similar way. Works fine. 2 closet doors and a mailbox set up with the magnet at 90 degrees.

I have been asking for months -- glad someone took the plunge!

I have not heard of anyone getting it to work on anything except the Vera ecosystem. I REALLY want them to support the ZXT-120, as I have a portable AC system in my office and want a controller for it.

I got one a couple of weeks ago ang got it to work after I also bought a ZRC-100 remote to program it with the right codes. I am controlling a Daikin system with it. I'm not sure if any other Zwave remote would work or not.

You got it working with Wink?

If so, can you set it for a certain temperature threshold and have the AC turn off when it hits that threshold? For example, let's say I set it to 72 and the room is 78. Can you set up robots or something so that when room temp hits 72, the ZXT-120 turns the AC off? Or is Wink using that remote you mentioned to turn it off?

The thermostat appears like any other thermostat. I can turn it on or off, set it to heat, cool or both, and set the heat/cooling temps. I was going to sent a screen shot of it, but don't see how to do that via iPhone.

I guess I forgot to mention that Yes, this is all on the Wink hub. No robots needed.

Press the power button and home at the same time, it will make a screenshot and save it to your camera roll.

Sorry - I meant attach an image via iPhone. I know how to take a screen shot. Now that I am on a "real" computer, I see how to attach an image. And, here it is...

Interesting. Do you know if the Honeywell MN10CESWW is a supported model of AC? I've read mixed things about it but as I recall, when I reviewed the models documentation last year, it didn't have built-in codes, so you would have to teach the ZXT-120 the proper codes.

No Honeywell model is listed on the ZXT-120 code list.

The Wink store finally got the Lutron Caseta with Pico remote back in stock, so I bought one with my $50 off code. Not sure where I'll use it yet, however. I also want to try those Linear switches someone linked earlier in this thread since I might be able to link them together wirelessly.

https://winkathome.net

Here's how it works...

If you have not yet logged in, you will immediately be directed to a URL on Wink's servers to be validated. You will log in there, directly with wink. I never see your credentials.

Upon successful validation at the Wink servers, Wink will send you back to my Wink@Home site with a temporary and short-lived authorization key. I use that temp key to validate you with the Wink API and present the pages to you.

Disclaimer 1: As of this writing, Wink is having issues with their API that renders most devices useless. I have manually coded a fix for lights, switches, locks, and a few other random things. Complicated devices like thermostats, AC units, etc... will not work until Wink fixes their API.

Disclaimer 2: I have applied for a Google AdSense account. My goal is to not make a profit, but to possibly recoup the expenses accrued obtaining the domain name, monthly hosting fees, and SSL fees to keep the site secure. There are currently no ads displayed on the page, but there probably will be in the near future. Once I see how these ads look, I will try to make them as unobtrusive as possible.

Disclaimer 3: I had about 10 folks testing the site for the past week. The server seemed to handle the load fine. Now that this is offered to the public, I'm hoping the load will be handled reasonably well. Please bare with me as this might have some growing pains. I'll do my best to stay on top of any issues that arise.

Have Fun

P.S. Those of you that use PubNub, that will be worked on this week and released for phase 2

I really like your work trunzoc, too bad Wink can't seem to get its act together. I think they're still reeling from Hubgate and financial problems.

I should provide an update on my own environment. I was having issues with my Trippers suddenly dropping. They had been solid since I deployed them and since they are on the far side of the house from the hub, I figured a neighbor within range of them probably bought another wireless device of some sort that caused interference.

So, I bought a cheap light fixture off of Amazon (a hobbyist "jar lid light" top), put a GE Link bulb in it, and moved it closer to the Trippers to serve as a repeater. So far, so good. If the ecosystem (and by that, I mean Wink OR ST) matures to the point where I feel I can deploy these throughout the house without annoying the wife, I can get rid of this makeshift repeater and just use naturally deployed devices to repeat.

Hey guys, quick question on the Lutron Caseta. Let's say I have two of them. I am assuming that if I change the power on the lights using one switch, I can use a robot to power on the lights attached to the second Caseta, correct? Any way to also match dimming levels?

That is correct. There is no way to use Wink to match the dimming levels, but you can set a PICO remote to control both of them at the same time if you want.

Has anyone seen any documentation or hacks of the Quirky Nimbus? I got one fairly cheaply off eBay and just got it set up. Has tons of potential if it just had a couple of local APIs or Wink APIs but it seems to be abandoned. There is an IFTTT 'channel' so remote action is possible. I'll spend some time on that.
