So last night one of my Link bulbs did not dim per the robot I have set....I tried to do it "manually" through the app and nothing happened. Then realized all of the Link bulbs were non responsive. In past if this happened I was able to unplug the hub, plug it back in and everything was fine. Last night that did not work.

So for the first bulb I went through the reset process described above and nothing. Then started to go through the process of readding it to the hub without deleting the bulb and it ultimately worked.

For the other two bulbs I was able to kill the power and start to re add then....getting to the " hub is ready screen" letting the pairing process time out and then they would work....

Odd.....my wife has down unplugging the hub this new twist of it continues will be another story

One thing I noticed is that in the latest Android version of the Wink App, they seem to have removed the Activity log from the device page and now, you must click Activity from the menu to see the activity log. What the heck? The funny think is that they FINALLY added the activity logs to the iOS version -- right on the device page! lol

I download android wink app 2.6.0.4 from 2.5.0.3 and now my tripper log is gone, not showing any activity since 1-27-15 . I called wink and reported and they said it appears to be widespread. They were so supposed to get back with me and haven't as of 1-30-14. Is anybody else having this issue?

Yeah, the latest Android update inexplicably removed the activity logs from the device page while ironically finally fixing the iOS version to show the activity logs on the device page. 2 steps forward, 1 step back...

Anyway, from the Wink app home page, click Sensors and when you're on the Sensor page, click the menu icon (...) and then "Activity" and see if you see them. I am showing activity from today in that location.

Anyone try this device?

http://www.amazon.com/Ecolink-Z-Wave...sin=B00FB1TBKS

A reviewer said he got it working with Wink BUT robots were unable to trigger. I'm hoping the new firmware and app additions might have changed that. I'd like to get a motion sensor but I'd want one that also works with SmartThings since I may go that route when V2.0 is released.

I got this motion sensor today. Some comments:

1. It is REALLY easy to add it to Wink -- you add it as a Linear Motion Sensor and it is very painless.
2. I haven't played with the jumpers yet (probably won't at this stage), but it doesn't operate quite like I was hoping. I was kind of hoping it would sort of be like a switch -- when motion was detected, it would flip to "On" and stay that way for 4 minutes (default reset period of the unit) and would then flip to "Off." It doesn't work that way; you can only set a robot to trigger on "Motion Detected" events. Not surprising really, but I can always dream.
3. The unit comes with mounting hardware, battery, and a surprisingly thorough set of instructions.

I've got it sitting on top of my server, which is next to my office door, and have a robot trigger the lights if you walk in between 5:30 and 11:00. I'll probably mount it up in a corner of the room when I am done testing. If Wink adds timer functionality to the app, it would probably meet most of my needs as I'd like to be able to set lights on a timer once motion has been detected and then reset the timer if motion is detected at the device detection interval (4 minutes by default).

IndyColtsFan - good to see that report. I have one of those (couldn't resist the price) from several weeks ago and my first attempts at pairing were frustrating, so I put it back on the shelf. You've inspired me to try again.

BTW... weren't you doing something with garage or gate sensors? Ecolink makes a cheap, tilt, sensor for garages. I also have one of those and likewise couldn't pair it. But if the PIR works for you, then I think the garage tilt sensor would too.

You might be OK now if you have firmware .56. I literally put the sensor down a couple of feet away from the hub, pulled the battery strip out, and then the Wink wizard found it and added it pretty easily. I have to admit, I am pretty impressed.

Right now, I'm using Trippers on 2 of my 3 garage doors. I was thinking of ordering another set and use one on the third door and the other on an outside gate after I paint and waterproof it. I'm willing to look at other options but the Trippers are pretty cheap and do a decent job.

I just received the same motion sensor today also and had a very similar experience setting it up. Went very smooth. I was also disappointed by the way the motion was reported in robots. I was hoping for motion and no motion being the trigger options but unfortunately detects motion is the only option.

I just asked on twitter about adding the feature of no motion detected for x min turn off lights. Got the normal wink response of it being something they are working on.

In my opinion the system is doing very good with stability at least in my setup. The main place that it is lacking at this time is the over simplicity of the robots. We need more advanced options

So I need to do some additional testing, but my robot based on my garage door opening does not seem to work. The robot on the motion detector, however, works great.

For the garage door, if it opens between 6:30 PM and 2:00 AM, it is supposed to turn a light on. Not sure why it is not working, as the Tripper is registering the open event fine.

Try setting one robot from 6:30 to 11:59 pm. Then another from 12:01 am to 2:00 am. Robots struggle when they cross the midnight line for some reason.

I added my Ecolink sensor last night and set up several robots that seem to be working fine. I too would very much like to see a timer field on the robots. Another feature I passed on to Wink a few weeks ago was a random feature on schedules. My 20+ year old X10 system let you program on/off times as random and it would randomly add or subtract time from the scheduled time.
My system is much more stable and reliable in the last few weeks I am encouraged.
Has anyone gotten the Ecolink tilt sensor paired up?

I'm curious about the tilt sensor too, as I'm thinking it might work better for my gate than a Tripper, depending on what axis the tilt is actuated on.

On the Ecolink's Amazon page, in the "Answered Questions" section, a guy claimed it does not work with Wink but his answer was from 9/2014. However, I read through the reviews and a review from 12/27 says it still doesn't work with Wink. It does, however, work with SmartThings and my policy is that I won't buy a device unless it works with SmartThings as well as Wink.

I also read it gives a lot of false positives, so maybe I'll stay with Tripper.

One other thing I'd like to see -- a fan controller. I know some designs were submitted to Quirky (I think Ieee_raider or MjnMichael may have submitted one) so I am hoping they have one soon.

Stability has been solid for me as well. The lag issues are still there on occasion, but if they go through with their planned addition of local commands, that will eliminate the lag. I'm on record as stating that I will look at SmartThings v2 when it is released and I probably still will, but it is possible that Wink might improve enough by then for me to be happy with it. There are probably only a couple more items I need for Wink to support for me to be happy, along with local commands.

I've been on .56 for about a week. I also had intermittent trouble with battery power levels being reported by the trippers. I spoke to wink, and they sent me 5 replacement batteries which I received yesterday.

The lag still exists. In fact, I have one on a bedroom closet door that is supposed to trigger the lights in that closet. Yesterday, I open the door and nothing happened. Although that door had not been opened in two days. I suspect if the tripper does not sense open or closed state for a set period of time, they go into some sort of standby to help preserve battery life. I don't know for sure, just speculating.

I agree. I'm planning to buy Smartthings V2 , unless wink goes with local commands. Interesting, I read ST will include Somfy motorized blind control, which I need. Today, the only option is to buy a $300 relay. I'm lazy, but not that lazy.

Another item that would seem to be easy to develop would be a 4-6 button remote to trigger different lighting scenes.

I got replacement batteries for my trippers, a new hub with .56 and a new relay. I can't get the trippers to connect to my new hub. I set the hub into pairing mode looking for the tripper and install the battery while holding the tamper switch. The led on the tripper comes on for a few moments, turns off and never connects to the hub. When I first got them they paired perfectly. Is there some kind of reset process outside of removing the battery I need to know, like the Link light bulb reset trick?

I did come up with a kind of janky way to get the lights to turn off after the motion sensor turns them on using a combination of ifttt and a pivot power genius.

When the motion turns on the lights I also have it email my gmail account. When ifttt sees the word closet in my gmail it toggles an outlet on my pivot power on or off depending on the last state. I have two robots set up watching that outlet on the pivot power one for on and one for off. They both turn off the light. It works quite well but the only downside is you cannot control the time delay. You are at the whim of ifttt's refresh time so 0-15 min.

Just sucks that we have to do such a sloppy work around for such a simple task.
