As far as future equipment upgrades go, I'll probably pick up a couple more Kidde smoke alarms, and maybe a Nest one for the kitchen since the button would be easy to reach. I have access to a storage garage & want to put a MyQ adapter on it at some point, as well as a Honeywell thermostat in the house. I haven't decided on lightswitches yet. My first Caseta switch died & we all hated having flat wall switches, but the Pico remote was really super handy. Leviton has some rocker switches, but they don't have a remote & cost the same ($60), so it'd be crazy money to replace all of the switches in my current place (upwards of a grand, and for switches I don't even like!). Not really sure what to do on that front yet.

Leviton does have remotes..they are only $11 on Amazon. Got my third one on the way right now.

I got the Tasker thing up and running and it's really, really great. You give it your Wink credentials and run a particular task and then it's ready to go.

I say 'OK Google, turn off bedroom light' or 'OK Google, lock the front door'. You can even dim lights. 'OK Google dim bedroom light to 50%'.

And yes, it can activate shortcuts. 'OK Google, activate lock house'.

I am trying to get this to work and hope someone can point me in the right direction - when I try and run WinkGetDevices I get back an error that No access Token was granted.

I have set the wink user name and password...I left the ClientId and Secret set to what was in the profile....any thoughts?

No they are wired... you need 2 wires..in my case I used neutral and the traveler wires.

Oh, so it's just a remote switch, not an actual remote control like the Pico. Hmm. One of the things I like about the Pico is that it's wireless, so you can use it handheld, or optionally wall-mount it wireless, and it has an advertised 10-year battery life. Although Lutron apparently castrated functionality by only allowing it to control Lutron devices in Wink & not other devices (at least, without additional robot setup - haven't played with them that far yet).

Did you exit Tasker after entering the user name and password? Since GetWinkDevices calls GetOAuth you have to exit Tasker if you change the called task(or run GetOAuth by itself).

The real power is being able to automate stuff based on conditions. When I go to sleep(plug my phone into the charging dock) it turns off all the lights and locks the door. When I remove it from the charging dock it turns on selected lights.

I've said in the past(and I believe here) that the voice control was more of a parlor trick. Fun to impress family and guests; however I got a smartwatch last week and I've found voice commands much more useful(I generally don't carry the phone in the house).

Yes. I ran it by itself, then exited and then restarted phone. Honestly I need to play more with it tonight. I agree with your other post on automation although the voice stuff may actually get my wife to stop texting me instead of clicking on the wink app

Does the watch operate off a 24/7 listening keyword like "OK Google"? Because that would be slick...decide to do something, activate the keyword, say the command, boom! No having to touch a button or anything.

Any suggestions on a reliable Wink friendly motion sensor that's battery powered?

I picked up a cheap Moto G android prepaid phone off craigslist yesterday just for running tasker. I have to say I am loving it so far. The setup is a little challenging but the end result is awesome. I now have a timer setup for my motion sensor that controls my closet lights and for my myQ turning off the lights when the garage door closes. I even went a little more advanced with the closet and wrote in the ability for the timer to reset if motion was redetected before the timer runs out. Not bad for a $30 phone that sits plugged into the wall in a cupboard

Yea wireless would be nice but once these are installed that's it. I tried to go with Lutron but they both burned up on me.

Also I am giving wink a fair shake to improve things. And if they don't, I will probably switch to smart things and these switches will work with ST..not sure the Lutrons will. I had older Insteons..they worked well but don't want to be locked into one vendor...

Twist my wrist to turn the display on. Shake it and give it voice commands.

I've been waiting to pair some Z-Wave devices (previously unsuccessful but others are reporting some luck) until my hub updates to .56. Mine is still at .55. Two questions: Is it enough better that waiting is prudent? Idea on how to force an update ?

Looks good but I forgot one important detail, outdoors. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions on a reliable outdoors Wink friendly motion sensor that's battery powered?

If you find one, let me know. I think there is definitely a lack of outdoor devices which are compatible with Wink. I'm probably going to order some Trippers and attempt to weatherproof them for use on outside gates.

Indy, I read with anticipation your description of pairing the Ecolink PIR. I just tried it, but no luck. I see that the animation for the Linear Motion Detector looks just like my Ecolink, so I follow those directions precisely. The hub blinks blue, but after inserting the battery, the PIR red light goes on, and I press the "program button for 1 second"... nothing. I take it that when you pressed the button something happened. Mine just hangs there and, after a couple of minutes, times out. Any suggestions you can give me? Do you think .55 vs. .56 is a difference maker?

Well, I am on .56. I also don't remember actually pressing the program button -- I pulled the battery strip out and started going through the wizard. While I was looking for the program button it seemed to complete the wizard. I thought for sure it wouldn't work and I'd have to redo it, but it worked fine.

Has Anyone with the Ecolink Z-Wave PIR Motion Detector, (PIRZWAVE2-ECO) and the Wink Tasker Project been able to get the Motion Sensor show up on the task "Wink Get Devices"?

Everything I try doesnt get it to show up as a device

What's the verdict on the Wink Trippers? I got in on the 50% off coupon but haven't mounted mine yet since they're not flush against the door/jam.

Should I keep the 3 sets or return them?
