Just a heads up, if you have Android don't update the Wink app the update just force closes.

Seems they just updated the update to 3.1.0.10 and fixed it.

For some reason the 3.1.0.10 update is no longer available on Google Play. The only version available is 3.1.0.8 and it crashes on start-up. I got the good version while it was available but did not know they pulled it and updated my tablet so it is now useless for Wink.

Is Wink actively trying to piss off their users? LOL.

My app is still DOA. Makes one wonder about Wink's QA policy. First an expired security certificate expires causing nothing but grief for their users two weeks ago, and now another update debacle for their Android users?
Come on Wink. You haven't recovered from your last dog and Pony show and now this?

Did anyone see the Facebook posting claiming Google voice can now command wink shortcuts? Doesn't seem to work for me...anyone having success?

You need the updated Wink app which will then make your Wink app force close. But when it does get fixed you need to create special shortcuts for "ok google" activation.

After actually trying to use the voice commands I would have to say they do not work.

There's another third-party app that does work for voice control of Wink (or other things) via IFTTT called Moni.ai:

http://blog.ifttt.com/post/115230932038/introducing-the-moni-ai-channel

I've not done much with it beyond just trying it quickly the other day to see how/if it worked. It did. Relatively quick. Relatively simple.

On a related note, does anyone have IFTTT geofencing working with Wink? I can't get either the built-in location or IFTTT to work reliably on Android or IOS. I do block or obscure location and a bunch of other things for privacy on Android but tried to remove all of that for Wink and IFTTT. IOS should be clear with detailed location permitted.

WTH Wink! Over 12 hours and I still don't have a functioning Wink app on my Android? What the hell did you guys forget this time to screw up this update?
Glad I never trusted Wink with my locks and garage opener, or else I'd be screwed!

Has anyone updated google apps and the Wink app to enable direct command through google? I upgraded both apps last night and ever since my Wink app crashes every time I try to open it. Any thoughts....

Third time must be a charm, because I just deleted the Wink app and rebooted my device then downloaded the Wink app from GooglePlay and it FINALLY opened without a forced crash! I was doing that all last night to no avail, but luckily its finally working again!

Sorry had an issue with crashlytics on the android app. It's was fixed immediately but it sometimes takes a few hours for the app updates to be distributed to all users on google play.

New Android update supports Google voice commands for Wink shortcuts. We've also added a Google now card for door locks. If Google and Wink detect you aren't home and your front door is unlocked, a helpful card will automatically surface prompting you to take action through the Wink app.

Have the same issue here. People are complaining about it on the FB as well. Seems to be Link bulbs only. Support seemed to be clueless about it, but they're informed about it now.

Below is an email I sent Wink:

I have a problem with the "Wink Shortcut" in IFTTT. I was using a shortcut created in Wink to close my garage (MyQ) in IFTTT at a certain time that worked very well until Wednesday 4-29th. The IFTTT recipe stopped working and I discovered the shortcut was no longer available to use in IFTTT. I deleted the shortcut and recreated it in Wink. I deleted the recipe in IFTTT and tried to recreate it, but the shortcut to close my garage is still missing. I'm guessing that Wink removed it for the same reason that closing the garage is not allowed as a scheduled activity in the Wink app. Is that correct? Can I get the shortcut available in IFTTT again?

With regard to moni.ai - I'm missing something - can't seem to get it to work. Can someone point me in the right direction. Can I use it to control my GE lights or the Lutron switch?

Unless something has changed since I tried it, you should be able to do anything that you can launch via IFTTT. Moni just provides a front-end trigger to IFTTT to activate a recipe that you've created.

Basically, first you'd need to make a shortcut for whatever you want to do in the Wink app. Then add the Wink shortcut and Moni channels to IFTTT. It will prompt you for credentials to sign-in for both. Then in the Moni channel in IFTTT, create a recipe that says whenever I say whatever string, then do whatever shortcut. It will present a list of shortcuts from Wink to pick from. That's pretty much it.

It's not as convenient and integrated as "OK Google..." but it does work and can be used cross-platform and probably a little easier for most than setting up some of the other ways via Tasker and voice controls. Or did work anyway when I tried it the other day before the recent updates.

Been on vacation the last week and when I came back today, I STILL haven't received my $50 code from Wink. Sigh....

Too bad the IFTTT channel doesn't have any triggers that look particularly useful for controlling HA stuff.

I'm using the WiFi connect/disconnect IFTTT trigger to turn a light on and off. Works kinda OK.

Never mind. Didn't see your next comment.

How's the performance? Much lag?

I'm excited for my bt.tn to arrive, I have a lot of scenarios I want to test it out in! Spark has an interesting competing model for half the price: (although it's not quite as plug & play as the Bt.tn is)

Would also be interesting to repurpose the Aeotec doorbell for IFTTT functionality.

My hub has decided today to stop connecting to the wifi. It endlessly blinks yellow and then purple. Attempts to reconfigure it in the Wink App are fruitless and Wink tech support is non-responsive. All in all good times. Thankfully I have the Hue hub.
