Hey, just looking for some advice. I have a wink hub with 4 GE linked bulbs a Schlage lock and a GE outlet. I seem to be having problems of late where the bulbs in particular will show on when they are not.....I'm not sure the reason but thought a reinstall of the Wink app might help....anyone experience the same issue and have any thoughts?

What would like to see in a Wink update is lights turning on and off according to the schedule or robot.

If I understand your question, there's already a scheduler for lights. Go to the Lights page, hit the three dots top right and Schedule. Works in Robots.

Do have control of the lights through the app, ie: can you turn them on and off and they respond!
If they don't respond, but the app thinks they are on or off, then the only way I've found to workaround that issue is to remove them from the app, then Reinaldo them. It's a pain because you will lose all of your programmed schedules.
Hopefully wink gets their act in gear and includes polling for the bulbs in their next update.

App store finally came back up so I installed Testfllight and clicked the link in the invitation email.

On the app description in testflight under "What to test" it says Schlage User Codes, and Pella Blinds

Neither of these apply to my setup. So far everything else on the app appears to be the same as the released version.

This is what I have/see too. I believe on Facebook there is rumor that in a couple of days they will pass along some new items for the app to do. As if they just wanted to get TestFlight going and the app out first. That's the way I read it. Keep an eye out these next few days???

I updated my Tasker project today. I added the ability to turn Robots on and off and fixed some bugs

Last Updated 3/12/2015
-Bug Fix: Corrected issue where a scene with a single-word name would not fire from Voice Control
-Bug Fix: Corrected Issue where a Voice Control would only accept the first word in the %WinkSCeneWords var as usable (usually "Activate")
-New Feature: Added the ability to turn Robots on and off. See below for Voice Commands.
-New Feature: Added the ability to get the current status of a robot and the last time it was fired. See "Wink Get Device Status" task description for usage.
-Random: Broke Device and Shortcut control into 2 separate tasks. The single "Wink Send Command" task was getting to large an unmanageable to hold both.
-New Task: "Wink Send Shortcut". This should never be called directly and should not affect any existing tasks you might have created.
-New Task: "Wink Send Robot". New task to send Robot enable/disable commands.

Hello, and I'm new here to both the Forums and Wink, and perhaps use some tips and pointers, on a few questions.

1. Does anyone know of a Wink dedicated support forums? Perhaps the Admins here could begin thinking on a specific subforums for Home Automation and Wink, ST, Insteon etc.

2. Installing the Wink Relay. I've read the instructions, and while it say it needs to be installed/replace a Switch that does not connect to an AC outlet. Does anyone know if it actually can be? Every 'available' switch in my home is connected to an AC outlet. My only other switch options are either 3-way switches, a dimmer switch, or 3-gange box with 3 switches in it.

3. Has anyone hacked/rooted their Wink? I read over here on hacking the box so you can use it without an internet connection. but i'm not sure yet if the hack then removes it from Wink Cloud and internet or not. if you hack it, can you still use the WinkApp, plus OpenHab? I think they ability to use when internet is down critical. Internet may be down, but your home wifi is still communicating to devices, so should still be able to control things.

Relay must get power from the wall, not an outlet like you would plug a lamp into. You must have a neutral wire in the lightswitch box. Newer homes should be fine, older homes.. probably not. If you are unsure, ask an electrician!

Neutral is usually a white wire, but you can never be sure without a circuit tester. If there's an unused neutral in your box, it may be capped off. Be careful, the switch loop to your switch may be a white-colored-black wire (meaning a white wire with black tape to indicate it is carrying hot power). Again, if you are unsure, it is best to ask an electrician.

A dimmer switch could be replaced with Relay. You could also do the 3-gang, because Relay can be mounted in such a way to only remove one of those light switches.

Just tested the beta on my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.2 and no problem found. Notification shortcuts seem to be working for me

Same configuration, IOS 8.2 on iP6. I deleted the shortcuts on the notification page when they wouldn't work. Rebooted the phone and tried to put them back. Now only have a line 'Wink Shortcuts and a blank space.

My understanding is that when the Wink hub first came out(firmware v0.37, I believe) there was an exploit left open that allowed it to be rooted. This exploit was soon corrected, so if a hub has been connected to the internet and received an update, it can no longer be rooted using that exploit.

I've also read(XDA) that you can, if you time it right, run another exploit(it may be the same one) while it's doing firmware updates. You have to catch it at a certain point in the update process.

There were different exploits out there. For versions < 0.33, there was the original set_dev_value.php exploit (basically, you could pass as a parameter any kind of shell script you wanted - it was more or less explicitly rootable). For versions < 0.47, there was a SQL injection exploit that would allow you to execute arbitrary commands.

When you're getting an update installed, the hub boots into a "lightweight" version of its operating system. This lightweight one can also be rooted.

Once you're rooted once, you can manually control the update process and always stay rooted (basically, you modify the upgrade scripts to not automatically reboot the hub, which lets you ssh in, and insert your own ssh key to allow you to get a root shell when you reboot into the regular hub OS.)

You also don't have to do anything special to get new updates - I was able to upgrade to 00.56 the day it hit Wink's Amazon s3 server. It appears there's a 0.77 version on the server right now too.

Hi,
I made that blog post. Yes, you can have both the hacked local control AND the Wink Cloud working at the same time. But there's not really any need to use the cloud, since you can access OpenHAB remotely anyways, just need to port forward and use DDNS.

If your hub hasn't updated yet, I recommend blocking the update site via your router rules. Local control of the Wink hub is so sweet.

How's response time on an exclusively locally-controlled Wink setup?

What's new on version 0.77? Any new devices?

Not that I've noticed.

I did notice that the Monoprice garage door sensor I recently got will pair fine as a generic device, but shows nothing in the app. It does show its status via aprontest -l correctly, so the hub does actually recognize it.

Pretty good. Between pressing a button on the OpenHAB app and the light reacting is less than 1 second. It's basically network speed + Raspberry Pi processing the php script. In the video, you can see how long each light takes to respond sequentially. That was before I group them, so now they all react at once.

I have a working PHP script that queries devices via aprontest, grabs the relevant data, and then posts status to OpenHAB. It's been really dependable. I need to clean it up, and I want to add some intelligence (only post if change). Even if Wink doesn't know about it, OpenHAB can. I'll post it here in a few days.
