I do have the case where I run a shortcut, the status of the bulbs updates pretty quickly but the app take a bit to update my groups. So this leaves data in an inconsistent state (light is off, group says it's on). Wink figures it out eventually, but for a short time it is annoying.

I've noticed that. My solution is to stop tinkering with the app and checking if Wink is doing things properly and just close the app after doing what I wanted! The app usually sorts everything out within a minute or so, so there is little need for me to watch it do that.

...another question...Using Android,

In lights, I have individual bulbs, switches, etc listed. I've also created groups. Anytime I rearrange lights in the order I want, group order gets all mixed up. When I go into groups to rearrange, lights get screwed up. I guess there is programming somewhere linking the two somehow, although I can't imagine why.

Anyone else having the similar issue?

I spoke with Wink support yesterday and they told me the GE bulb will lose pairing if their is no power to the light.

What period of time do you have the Leviton switch in the off position? several hours or more consecutively?

I would rather stay with the GE lights as I prefer the clear glass vs Cree opaque covers.

The overhead lights go overnight every-night so say about 8 hours.

My computer room goes longer than that as I normally don't use it till late in the day/night.

I have another lamp light in the den that goes days. I have a plug in appliance module that controls it , but it is still a switch.

I have heard others say what you were told but I have never seen it myself.

Honestly if that happened all the time, I would have taken them back as they should not do that.

Does anyone know how to pair to get battery level on an ecolink motion sensor? I used the inclusion mode and am only getting motion not battery.

I got mine to pair once-upon-a-time but no more. However, have you tried pairing yours through the "add a product" method (the Linear GoControl appears to be the same as the Ecolink)?

I don't think Wink has enabled battery status for sensors yet. I have the Linear GoControl door and motion sensors and the also do not report battery status.

I've been using the Wink hub, GE Link bulbs, Dropcam and Nest for a little less than a month. I like it so far. Once I got the hub in the right location (far enough from the router and placed where the other devices could still reach it), I haven't had any major issues.

The main problems I did encounter were: a very slow/difficult hub software update that eventually went though. I have had to re-pair a bulb once. Lost all my shortcuts and robots (possibly after the software update).

I had 32 false errors in per day. Empty house no animals 7 days of false reports. Are you having any false errors?

Agree with you 100% This is a stupid design for a networked device. I have a couple of TCP Connected lights in table lamps and they quite often go 7 or 8 hours with the power to them turned off, but as soon as power is restored they come back to life in the app, schedules and all.

ALL of my GE Link Lights re-pair without issue when theyve been turned off at the switch. I have had NO issue with this. My wife and son turn off the switches all the times and I've had no issues with them reconnecting once the switch is turned back on.

I lost track of this thread and no way I can catch up.. Few random things I have seen look great for localized support, whomever is hacking away at that kudos!

Anyway, tonight one of my hallway lights randomly turned on. Log doesn't show how it was turned on though.. Server glitch? My phone and 2 tablets are only ones with wink installed, none were in use at the time, and wife was sitting next to me...

I have a few of the GE link bulbs, after turning them off I will hear a loudish click or two a few minutes later. Anyone else experience this? Once I awhile it will happen when I am just about asleep and it will startle me, otherwise its mostly not an issue, just weird.

Sorry if these have been discussed, 8 other forums that I follow, never seem to make it to this one often enough..

I've had a rooted hub for a few months now, and I really like Wink hub when integrated with OpenHAB.

I've been working on creating a "physical dashboard". Most HA system use a virtual dashboard that you check on your phone to see what's happening and to make things happen. A physical dashboard is like a small model house to show you what's going on. So far, I've only automated a garage door and the front door using a pair of tripper sensors. Here's the youtube video of it so far:

And here's a picture of the house in mid-construction.

I plan on posting all my scripts and configurations once I've polished it off a bit more. Here's some background info on how I linked Wink Hub with OpenHAB:

Is it me, or are the WD500Z/WT00Z ridiculously slow?

I have them both paired to the Wink, and used the Minimote to associate them, but the entire system is slow as heck.

Pressing the main WD500Z switch on/off takes about 2 seconds before the fixture actually starts turning on/off. Pressing the remote WT00Z takes anyware from 5-15 seconds before the WD500Z responds.

1) Is the remote link between the 2 really so slow that it takes AT LEAST 5 seconds, but usually closer to 10-15, and sometimes as much as "I walked the hell away after a minute and came back later to see that it had finally turned on"?

2) Does the Wink have anything at all to do with this connection? It's direct from 1 device to the other without actually talking to the Wink Hub, right?

Bwahahaha, that's awesome! Next step: Go on Shapeways, 3D-print a model of your house, and have OpenHAB send a secondary command sequence containing color signals to a set of Arduino-driven RGB LEDs to have a visual status view of your equipment status & command receipt :awe:

This may have been mentioned already, but today my Wink app for iPhone popped up a Schlage message:

"What's new? Schlage locks: This update lets you create and manage lock User Codes, as well as customize Vacation and Alarm modes." Awesome!

I've updated my Wink Device Control web page, with hub status, trippers, and smoke detectors added. I'm not sure that I can add other specific devices since I don't have them and don't know what the data looks like. Here's the link:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/grxxr9cv3e5m662/WinkPost.zip?dl=0

So thank you for this! I made a few changes to your v2 version - case sensitivity issues and I optimized all of the images. I was going to keep a copy up on github, but I was wondering if that was alright. The zip file didn't have a license and I don't want to redistribute the code if that's not alright with you.

Group lights get no love usually I've noticed. Same thing with shortcuts.
Why cant we just include a group in the shortcut? For one or two bulbs no big deal but for the rest of us with 10+....ZZzZzZzZzZzZz

Yeah, I gave Wink a list of "things you should probably fix" and that was the first item on my list.

We have a dinning room chandelier which has 5 Cree Bulbs in it. I never control individual bulbs as the unit is the chandelier. So to program a "dinning room shortcut", I have to add all 5 bulbs to the shortcut. And then since the shortcut takes a scrollbar for each's dimming level, hope that I've dimmed them all mostly the same amount. It's a odd quirk.

Hello. New wink user.
I've been trying to catch up on all 73 pages. Finally done.
Great forum. Thank you to all the guys for posting and helping out the not so knowledgeable. (Me).

Had to finally post...
Great list x2 (by guagga)
I wouldn't think about switching to ST v2 if Wink did all those things and it worked. There is so much lacking in the robots and scedchule!!
Maybe I've been lucky but system work pretty well.
My Q and Schlage work 95% of the time
Trippers work about 80% of the time (wish it was better)
Lutron dimmers work great although the shortcuts sometime miss a dimmer.
Nest therm, protects and dropcam really don't do much
Would like to maybe expand the system.
Does anybody have the wink Overflow sensors, yet? Do the work well?
Thank you again

Agree...GREAT list.

Anyone using iOS App 2.9.0.5 keep getting logged out of the app? I probably use the app 2-3x per day, just checking various things, and it seems just about every time I end up logged out for some reason.

Also, my link lights have stopped polling correctly when my wife or son turns off the switch. I was getting the question mark showing the disconnection on this version of the app but it's not working. Anybody else seeing this?

Yeah, that's basically what it boils down to. I think they made a lot of headway into opening up the market for competitors to make easy & functional DIY tools, but they haven't delivered on something that is 95% or more reliable. All of my friends IRL still report issues with theirs. It's not like just buying a Linksys router & never thinking about it again, it constantly pops up in your face when something doesn't work, which is really bad for consumer perception because what people remember is the issues, even if they're not everyday, if they're regular enough they it's just like "yeah this thing is kind of annoying".

I'd like to put one in for my mom as she's getting older, and I ended up buying her an iPhone (her Windows phone isn't compatible), but I decided not to buy her a Wink system because it's just not reliable enough for an older person who is non-technical. I'll wait for STv2 & hope that it is stable enough that my aging parents can rely on it :\

+1 excellent list

And you know, I have another grievance - the overall minor instability of the system is enough to make it socially embarrassing. There's nothing like having your nerdy friends come over, showing off your fancy smarthouse gear, and something goofs up and everyone has a giggle. It's a small & probably vain thing, but then you get the "hah, you've spent $500 on this system & it doesn't even work right!" and it's kind of a let-down

So I mentioned a few pages ago that I had to disconnect the Wink hub (and the main lights with GE bulbs) because I was having new carpet installed in my upstairs and they weren't working correctly anyway, so it was no loss. Well, I hooked everything back up and everything worked fine and I didn't even have to re-pair the lights. Also, the Tripper on my wife's garage door had been showing very low battery for a couple of weeks and now it shows full again.

Very, very strange....

Yep towards the login issue. A little annoying to be honest thanks to my retarded password scheme. Luckily I have last pass and can just copy and paste.
