I'll be honest - I've gone into a couple of different Home Depots and it is really hard to even locate the Wink stuff. It is almost like they don't even carry it or have it stashed in a corner somewhere.

My Home Depot has all the Wink compatible stuff right up front, across from the customer service desk. It may be to reduce theft, but it's pretty well stocked.

I've been to three of them & no one has any clue what I'm even talking about. Versus when you go to Lowes & they have a huge Iris area. I think Wink got yanked at a lot of stores...

Any thoughts on the Kickstarter "iblinds"? The short video shows a Wink box. Super early bird pricing is $59 for a Z-Wave tilt motor powered by a Li-Ion battery. Compared to the industry today, $59 is dirt cheap, but it's still more than I want to pay for every blind in my house.

Does anyone know what water sensors are confirmed compatible with the Wink?

The Overflow is no longer available and no alternatives are listed on the Wink website.

I've been experimenting with a couple of different wifi enabled micros before I got Wink to monitor / automate my sump pumps. I picked up a pack of small float switches from Amazon and am considering trying one on a Tripper . . . wire it in parallel with the internal reed switch.

Anyone else having problems with IFTTT seeing available shortcuts or is it just me? Regardless what trigger I use, when it comes to selecting the shortcut to activate there are none listed. Just a message that they aren't available, try again later. The existing recipes/shortcuts that I created do work. The shortcuts are there and work OK on my Wink side. My IFTTT and Wink accounts are linked OK.

As far as Home Depot goes, yeah they've moved the Wink stuff to less prominent areas or have it just mixed in with other electrical stuff now in most stores around here. The Relay has been reduced to $199 and is on clearance. Tapt and Outlink now are inactive SKUs and in the clearance sections.

If you have Meijer stores near you, check them out. Of the 3 stores near me, 2 had Overflows in stock (I bought 2 of the 4 I saw).

Mine too.

The display disappeared from it's usual spot only to be resurrected up front by customer service and in plain view of folks walking in.

I like having it all in one spot so I can quickly check prices as I walk by.

Unfortunately, no, none within 10 hours drive.
Anyone know of anything else that works??

I don't know of any compatible water sensors other than Overflow. If you post on the Wink Facebook group, someone may be willing to sell you one. They go pretty quickly though. I probably should've bought the other 2 I saw but I bet they're still at the store.

Good suggestion thanks. Successfully found two.

Now hopefully someone over at Wink makes the executive decision to broaden device support now that it looks like they won't be making their own any more.

So what does everyone think is the best quick interface for Wink? Amazon Echo? Apple Watch?

Echo is great for lights. She/it can turn on/off any Wink device and dim Hue bulbs, but would be nice if she could dim anything connected to the Wink. Hoping for Nest thermostat connectivity, too.

The Echo app is used to configure rooms, but unfortunately doesn't pull room configuration off the Wink, so you have to recreate groups.

Yep - that was me who sent them to you.

It is somewhat surprising to me that when Wink decided to stop making devices, they didn't first find third-party replacements and add support or at the very least, provide a roadmap for support of third party devices which replaced the ones they discontinued.

Can Alexa set light schedules? For example can you say:

"Alexa - set lighting schedule for porch light to come on daily at 9pm"

or is limited to more basic commands such as:

"Alexa - turn on porch light"

Thanks for your feedback.

As of now, it's just basic commands. I have a group called "Outside" so I give exactly your example... "Alexa, turn on the outside lights."

Basic, but it works. You can put any lights in to any group you want, and each light can exist in more than one group. I've got groups for individual rooms, groups of lights in individual rooms, and groups for multiple lights in multiple rooms ("upstairs", "downstairs", "main floor"). This is independent from the groups in the Wink app. It's both good and bad.

Not that I'm an expert, but what I've read suggests the Echo platform is designed in such a way that new capabilities can be added by developers. For example, Nest could develop interaction that would allow you to give commands to set temp, home/away state, cool/heat, etc. GE/Wink could, if they devote developer resources, add such capabilities I'm guessing. I suppose we'll see.

Yeah, and perhaps not so coincidentally, Ben Kaufman was on the Wink Facebook group a few weeks ago and created a poll asking what people would be willing to pay for a Relay.....

So very, very tempting. Not sure where'd I'd put it though. I don't have a good place - at least not one that would be spouse-approved.

A lot of people are buying those cheap no-name Android tablets or phones and mounting them on the wall to use as controllers. I wouldn't buy a Relay at this stage because I think some of the features haven't been implemented yet and aren't likely to be since I'm sure it is going to be discontinued, if it isn't already.

My HD store use to have them in that same spot accross from customer service, but now they are all gone to an somewhere.

That's what I'm doing presently. I'm using a two old, unused iPhone 5's (one iPhone 5 and one iPhone 5C) as controllers on table stands, though the Wink app is surprisingly slow and laggy on them. Wink app works fine on my iPhone 6 and the Nexus 7 in the bedroom so I blame the old phones with iOS 8.4 and not the Wink app itself.

My setup is pretty much built out at this point, barring anything new that I discover I simply cannot live without.

- Wink hub
- Amazon Echo
- 4 Lutron in-wall dimmers
- 3 Lutron plug-in dimmers
- 4 Lutron Pico remotes
- 1 Leviton plug-in binary switch
- 7 GE Link bulbs, 3 Cree bulbs
- 16 Philips Hue bulbs (combination of multi-color and Lux, plus one Bloom) and Hue bridge
- 2 Kwikset locks (one 912 lever lock, one 914 deadbolt)
- 4 Trippers
- 1 Ecolink motion sensor
- 2 GE/Quirky Pivot Power Genius power strips
- 2 GE/Quirky Overflow sensors (en route; thanks IndyColtsFan!)
- 1 Nest Thermostat
- 2 Nest Protect smoke/CO detectors
- 3 Cameras (one DropCam HD in a outdoor weatherproof housing and two internal NestCams)
- 2 Automatic OBD interfaces
- 2 Harmony Home units for AV control (one with an Ultimate Home remote and one on a dedicated iPad mini)

Multiroom audio via two AirPlay-enabled systems (one for master bedroom and one with multiple speakers covering living room + kitchen) which is easy to run off my family's various iPhones and iPads. Will be adding a third AirPlay box to the basement for the kids ($99 Airport Express plus amp and speakers we already have). And the Echo does nicely for music, too.

The Amazon Echo can respond to spoken commands from kitchen and two other adjacent rooms.

All works very well together. Echo gives me voice control over all the lights (though presently only the Hue bulbs are voice-dimmable). Harmony remotes control AV equipment in two different rooms and set lights accordingly. Nest system (thermostat and Protects) pretty much runs itself but temp can be overridden via Wink and Harmony as well as via the Nest app. The DropCam & NetCams show up in both the Nest app and the Wink app. Door locks and lights are automated based on multiple shortcuts, timers, robots, sensors and IFTT recipes.
