I'll say no, but it's looking good for next year. They just put out an update (4.0.1) on Dec 18th. The notes for it said:

"We're closing out 2015 with one final app release that tidies up some things that needed tidying and paves the way for a big 2015. Happy Holidays!"

Their prior release added something I really wanted which was for Wink to recognize the state of Ecobee sensors for occupancy. Now one final thing they need to do is add those sensors to robots and that will open up all kinds of possibilities.

Hopefully sammy will take over the software side. While the hardware has been very reliable, the user interface is so bad that a touchwiz ui would be a huge improvement.

Has anyone had luck with using the Wink hub with the newer Caseta Pro dimmer switches. I can't get them to sync. But my Leviton and Original Casetas in the same room sync fine.

I agree with that. While Samsung does make a lot of good hardware, their software sucks and I still don't trust them for long-term commitments to platforms.

I have a Samsung security cam that is almost useless - buggy software that became more unusable with updates and now I have no hope of seeing them fix the bugs. They are NOT a software/platform company.

Does anyone know how to detect when television is turned on. I want to make a robot to dim my lights and shut my blinds when the tv is turned on but cant find any info on it

Hi Folks,
Love this group.
Having an issue with a GoControl door sensor. It works just about instantly, however every day or so, it stays in the "door open" mode, even tho' the door is fully closed.
I have the WInk hub, and just that one sensor. I fully removed the sensor from the hub, used another (brand new) door sensor. After a day or 2, same thing.
Magnet is very close to sensor (1/8 inch"). I can see the red light blink when closing.
Thoughts? Thanks very much for helping. I really, really want this to work.

Make sure and check the actual activity log on the sensor. I've seen this happen and every time it's just a UI error. Wink is fully aware that the door is closed. It's just the app fails to represent that properly in all 3-4 places that show you the door status.

However, yes, the activity log shows the same thing.
Door open stays "open" in activity log and all other places.
Very, very frustrated. I want this to work!

Then I'm not sure how else to help. I use 5 of those exact GoControl sensors and they all always show up properly in Wink. (With the exception of the bug I mentioned.)

My only other possible suggestion is to check the range to the Wink Hub. If the range is too great, it's possible the status messages aren't making it to the hub 100% of the time.

I have a tiny house, about 900 square feet. Not a lot of distance any one way. But I'll reposition the hub.
Weird that it would be a one way error (always error on closing the door).

Hello - this is my first post.

I am new to home automation. Just picked up a wink hub, have a plug in switch and a Lutron dimmer installed with 3 schlage locks on order. Right now I am working on some simple "rules" with my lights.


Question 1 -

I have attempted to create a robot for my lights that turn on at certain time, and off at certain time (starting with the basics), but when I try to proceed with the final "Done" button press in the android app, it is faded out and unpress-able.

I used the "During this time" and then "make something happen" portions of the robot section...selecting an actual time and not (sunset, or sunrise)

Does anyone have an idea of what I may be doing wrong in creating this simple robot function?

Question 2 -

I am interested in finding a wink compatible durable outdoor wireless camera (can be wired for power as I plan using an electrician to install, but prefer wireless for data aspects) for my driveway area that would alert wink upon motion detection after 11 pm, and trigger certain lights to come on (via robot), possible record of info etc. My preference would be a quality product that is proven vs. low price.

Thanks very much in advance for any input, I hope to be able to contribute back over time.

Has anyone had any luck adding a SmartThings sensor to their Wink hub? I'm unsuccessful and Google says possibly not. I thought it would and may have to return the sensor.

Anyone have any recommendation on a temperature sensor?

Hey Lancaster,
I use scheduling to do that, go to lights tap on the 3 dots top right of screen, scroll down to schedule press + button and you are good to go.
Robots are made to have something happen (do something to make something else trigger)

Not exactly the same things but I got a couple of the Lutron Connected Remotes for Xmas. They work pretty well as a push-button(s) for Wink I think. Not as flexible but the integration probably is more direct/clean for that purpose. Buttons can be assigned to shortcuts so you can do just about anything with it. Kinda handy to have around.

Our original conversation about buttons revolved around a more simple doorbell setup than something like Ring.

Well, I use a Dropcam with one of the Dropcases which you can find on Amazon. (still needs power, but does WiFi).
