They integrate into the base game. When Heart of Stone installed, a few quests to start the chain poped in my journal. So they seemlessly incorporate into the base game.

this one sounds like level 34+ though, and a new island/land altogether? End-er game content would be great.

It's been nearly a year since I played (I guess one year released is coming up, so maybe ~10 months), and would be nice to have reason to go back into it. ...I think it took me 200 hours before I finally went into the final mission. It got very redundant those last 30 or so hours completing stuff, but damn what an amazing game.

Yes but I don't believe your progress through the base game prohibited you from starting hearts of stone. Maybe your level would though for a couple of the fights I don't really remember off the top of my head.

Its been forever since I've played. I'm almost at skellige too. I was thinking about buying the expansion too but who knows if I'll ever finish it. Definitely one of the best games I've played and I normally suck so bad at RPG games.

Ive been playing it more recently after not quite getting as into it as I'd thought when it came out, and life, etc. I was initially hesitant to ever get to skellige but found myself about 6 levels to high for some of the initial stuff. Kind of kicking myself for waiting now because I really like skellige (some of the level design is incredibly beautiful there's a Marsh area on one of the big islands that really impressed me), more so than velen/novigrad.

I will say that this game has played a weird line where I keep finding quests and that's exciting, then the feeling of 'oh no, more quests than I can do!'.

I'm thinking of upgrading my PC and then buying the expansions too so I can continue this game at higher settings.

Is there a way to keep the save files? Are they universal, for example I have the game through gog..if I after I rebuild and want to move my saves over? I was thinking maybe by that time I could get it all bundled for less on steam instead of just buying each expansion from gog.

Give it a little time and you should see a complete edition after the final DLC/expansion is released. As for the saves, My Documents/Witcher 3/gamesaves is where all of your saves are stored. Copy that folder to a thumb drive, upgrade your PC, throw the folder back in My Documents and play right where you left off.

Thanks it's been a while since I've played so I don't want to start over because it will take forever. I'm sure there will be a bundle together for a decent price.

This thread convinced me to pick this game up again and give it another shot. I figured it would be easier to just start a new game since I only had about 15 hours in.

This game is SO much easier playing with KB+M. I was trying to play with a X360 controller my last time around and I just never really got the hang of it. This time combat is a lot more fun and easy to control, mainly because I have better control over the camera. I'm still a little lost but I am hooked now. I never really got that feeling the first time I tried playing.

I just saw that gog has the game for $49.99 and it includes the expansion pass. I think this is a decent deal if it includes all three expansions. Better than just buying the expansions separately.

Damn...this weekened was a cold rainy effing hell and my girlfriend got some kind of flu so what better moment to fire up a game and brew 8 fresh beans espresso!

After running arounf Velen and Novigrad I decided that it was time to change the decor and headed to Skellige for the first time.

WHAT A FREAKING AWESOME PLACE

The design, the feel of the Isles is so well rendered and really feel like a Viking-themed area. I think i'm gonna have fun in this place.

I think I should head there too. I've been sticking around the old areas seeing if I can do any more quests before going. I forget what level I am too. I don't think I'm up there either. My problem is always wasting hours running around doing side quests or collecting treasures.

I have the same problem hahah
This game offers so much stuff and every side quests are so unique and well thought out.

This game is a masterpiece nothing less.

Like yesterday, I had a side quest that started in Novigrad and had to go in Skellige, meet a guy and fetch a black pearl for him. So far pretty generic. Then the guy told me to meet him back in Novigrad cause he forgot his gold pouch. I get back in Novigrad, meet the dude for my pay and the guy seem sad. I ask why and told me he thought that getting his bethrotthed a black pearl ring would bring back her memory but sadly her mind is still affected and she doesn't remember him.

That is what I love about this game, the narrative is in every encounters. You can start a side quest and it may look pretty generic but there's always a nice back story behind it.

Would you guys believe I actually have not been to Skellige yet?
Yes, same reasons I probably have not gone yet. Well for one I'm still a low level I believe. Two, I want to find the armor sets.. I think I have the blue prints for the first one though. The cat school gear I think.

Other than that, this game has too much content but it's not filler at all which is great. If other companies made games the way these guys did, they would never be finished.

Ok, obviously many have not gone yet due to how much there is to do in the game, but there is also the fact that I am Norwegian. So maybe it is somewhat comical that I have still never been to Skellige yet.

I had a normal game going on throughout much of last year, but then I started a new hard game, and honestly it really isnt that hard. Not nearly anything like the Witcher 2. Right now I have done most of the stuff up to level 20 or so in both Velen and Novigrad, but still have to do the Vegelbud estate quest to advance the story farther.

Depends on what you mean. The first sets are 2 separate sets for swords and torso armor. The Viper set is for the steel sword and silver sword, while there is an upgrade for your starting armor.

After that, the first almost complete armor set is the Griffin set. This set has both the steel sword and silver sword, plus all types of armor. You will have to be level 11 to use the starting Griffin set. Thats the one you probably should be focusing on right now. You can upgrade the whole set to the Enhanced Griffin set when you are level 18.

And after that, you have what is probably the first fully complete armor set, the Feline set. However the last piece of the set that completes it, which wasnt in the Griffin set, is the crossbow, and unlike the rest of the set that you can use at level 17, you cant use the Feline crossbow until level 29.

Yea I think I stopped there after the first set. Not sure why, as it's been forever but probably since I wasn't high enough level. I almost wish I could start over but I sure as hell don't have the time. I'm going to rebuy the game with the expansions included and maybe that may make me restart once I rebuild my PC this summer.

I'm using the Feline set for the Light Armor bonus I got from the skill tree. Can't push myself to use anything else than Light Armor for the crit chance bonus. I'm dodging a lot and most of the time I can land 2-3 hits after a dodge and 50% of those are crits.

I might try some other sets later on but for now, level 21, i've been using light armor from the start and don't look back. The Enhanced Feline set is already crafted, both swords and all pieces of armore so i'm ready for level 23

I was doing the same thing, but then realized the game wants you to go up there and you'll travel back as needed. Skellige is a nice break from velen.

Bear armor, pure alchemy build. Basically immortal and wreck face everything.

I never used the heavy stuff. It seemed very un-Witcher to me, and also rather fugly in comparison to some of the other sets (though some light sets look awful).

The Feline set is way way way OP, unless they have rebalanced at some point. I used that for most of the playthrough, then switched over to the new-at-the-time Wolf armor set when it released. It looks snazzy and offers good bonuses.

Even on impossibru mode, the light Feline made the game super easy. I'm thinking that once the final content is out, I "may" buy that expansion stuff (Stopped playing before anything released) and do another playthrough. Though as I always tell myself I will change things up--maybe go heavy sign build and/or heavy armor--I never do and always default to my normal playstyle with these games.

It's that exact same reason that I might reskill my Witcher and go Wolf or Griffin / medium armor for the rest of the game. It'll also force me to experiment a bit more with Signs and other stuff.

And...Bear armor?!!?? Is that from the expansion or a quest?

EDIT: Oh never mind, it's the ursine set.
