I could have swore just a month ago they said that TW3 was so massive and contained so much of the story and was going to be so awesome that they didn't see themselves going back to that Franchise again? There is supposed to be a Witcher 4 planned http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/06...nned-according-to-leaked-witcher-3-documents/ .

Would seem to be a huge lie if they are actively including choice branches that carry over to 4. Even if it's just incase they decide to do a 4, it would seem like they are a lot more open to the idea of TW4 then previous quotes let on.

I remember something like that too. Like Geralt's story will be complete but that doesn't mean the lore of the game world will die out. What they said iirc is that the Witcher 3 will be the last of Geralt saga and if they do a fourth it will be with a new protagonist.
Similar to how Mass Effect 3 ended Sheperd's story and Dragon Age Awakening ended the Warden's story, there's too much money now in the Witcher franchise to let to die after Wild Hunt.
Hope they finish CyberPunk 2077 after TW3 though, need to see that CDP isn't a one franchise wonder.
Well, considering the story is based on a book series, I always assumed there were other stories that could be told. It is likely CDPR simply meant the main storyline in which occurs in their game would be concluded with Witcher 3 and they wouldn't be continuing it, even if more content existed.
Now they could just not focus on the Witchers characters within this universe or just not call the next game "The Witcher". But it implies very heavily that The Witcher series as a whole coming to a close. Now he went on talking about the last adventure for Geralt as well, so it's entirely possible that this is just some language barrier or a separation between what's in his head and what he actually says. But I don't see how anyone can get anything other than The Witcher 3 is the last Witcher game out of that quote.Badowski continued, "People may ask if this is really going to be the last Witcher game. Yes, it is. Why? Because we believe that we should end the series on a high note. Technology has progressed to where we can finally tell the story the way we want, with the visuals we want, in the world we imagined. This will be the ultimate fantasy RPG experience, and while we're hardly out of stories to tell, we believe it's time for us to look to new worlds and new horizons to keep pushing the boundaries of what we can create."
I've read elsewhere this is simply the last Geralt game. I think it's a language barrier thing
What language barrier? Is the original quote in Polish? If so, can someone link it to me.
BTW. I finished the game in both English and Polish and it was the first game that I actually enjoyed more in Polish. There were many stabs at the then current political situation in Poland and those allusions to the Politics were simply hilarious. British version wasn't as funny. I wonder why they did British version of the game and not north American but at the end of the day it's not a big deal for most. I don't like British English all that much but I'm probably in the minority.

Should I be excited for this even if I haven't played any other Witcher?

I haven't played it for some time, but I don't remember having any mouse issues with the game. Not claiming you didn't, but I don't believe it's a universal problem.I can think of a very good reason not to own the first Witcher: the fact that it's rendered virtually unplayable by it's appalling mouse input. It has possibly the worst negative acceleration of any game I've played. For me, this made it a misery to play, and the worst part is that I can see that it's a game I would have really liked otherwise.

Never had an issue with Witcher 1's mouse controls, I actually found them quite responsive/accurate.
