I finally finished the game, got the better ending ie
going off and training Ciri with her becoming a Witcher, then went to live with Yen.

I feel there is going to be a Witcher 4 down the road but not for awhile.

Yeah but Geralt's story is complete. They said this is his last game. All the endings pretty much make this possible.

Down to the developers really, there are five Witcher books,as always they can either go with a new Witcher for 4 or bring back Geralt, nothing is cut and dry in game industry.

The books don't follow the same story as the games, or rather the games don't follow the books exactly. They may have another Witcher game, but Geralt is done for the games. They said this is Geralt's final game.

I think good stories must have an ending. You cannot extend them indefinitely…” he said, commenting that Geralt’s adventures have already been so long and complex that “this seemed like a good point to think about an appropriate finale for the story.

Geralt “has reached the end of his journey,” but this doesn’t mean it’s the end of The Witcher universe in video games. “The Witcher universe is a very big place with a lot of NPCs, a lot of characters, a lot of places we haven’t shown yet,” Szamałek said. “So, we might return to it at some point…but we think that this is a good place to let Geralt enjoy his retirement and try something new."

I read that before,I would like to see a new Witcher character you can custom build yourself in next one and not
Ciri, she is too God like with her powers, need to bring it back down to earth a bit
,maybe a new Witcher Wolf school?..Plenty of possibilities.

I seem to have a bugged quest. The one where you help Lambert and he tells you to go look for Hammond. Well the quest marker remains at the seven cats inn. If I fast travel somewhere else that marker also remains on that fast travel marker. I guess I can't continue until I go to skellige?

Please spoiler tag anything related to the story.

What's the performance on AMD GPU systems now with the newest drivers?

I've got an R9280x/ i72600k cpu so I'm wondering if I can run high/ultra mix with a stable 50fps.

From my researcher I've seen a lot of variation, from 30fps-50fps constant with just high settings.

My settings are 1080p, full screen, hbao on, shadows low, hair works off, fps to unlimited and vsync on, blur and motion blur off, everything else ultra and I get around 45fps in some areas, low as 35/38 in other places. Your system should not have any issues.

The 1.05 patch seemed to make it a bit more stutter when I first started up the game. I'm running the 15.5 beta drivers because the 14.12 drivers would make my monitor go black for about a second before bringing up the desktop.

How big is the difference in SSAO and HBAO in this game?

I know Far Cry 3 had terrible SSAO until you either went the HD/HB route.

Yeah if you look at the world map you will notice the gold circle over Skellige.

With that quest,you have to
go to Skellige then after you done quest part there go back to Novigrad Inn to meet lambert and discuss next part of it then you carry on from there

Finally got to Novigrad. Man, this game is going to take me at least a year to beat going at my pace....but that's O.K

A game like this needs to be burned slow to fully appreciate it. I pity all you fools souls that have already beaten it

According to Steamspy, there are almost 600,000 owners of the Witcher 3 on Steam.

Then you have to factor in GoG and retail sales. I think it's safe to assume that there are at least 500,000 copies sold on GoG, then probably about a 100,000 for retail copies.

All in all, I'd say PC has up to 1.5 million copies sold. PS4 likely has a bit more at 1.8m and Xbox One has the rest.

Or the numbers for PC and PS4 could easily be reversed.

But in the end, PC will create more profits for CDPR due to:

1) Digital dominance. I believe devs earn more per digital copy sold than retail.

2) GoG which means CDPR pockets the entire cost of the game without sharing it with Sony and Microsoft.

3) PC platform has much longer sales cycles than consoles, especially if the modding community does a good job with the game.

1.3 million copies out of 4 million total were sold on PC in the first two weeks.

Looks like my numbers for the PC sales weren't that far off. Console sales are front loaded, so I guess we should expect them to sell more initially. But over the long run, the PC sales should easily dominate..

Can't agree more with you on that one. I've just gotten to novigrad but I have been trying to do the witcher contracts before starting the main novigrad story quests. Pretty much bored of exploring in velen, not much left there but ?? Monsters guarding treasure.

Yeah I forgot about those expansions! That's another 30 hours of gaming right there for fast gamers, but for slow gamers like myself, I'd say about twice that amount..

Anyway, with how successful the Witcher 3 has been financially speaking, I wonder if CDPR is going to release more content besides the already planned expansions?

I had over 140 hours on W3,completed all Witcher contracts(100% ie got the award "Geralt the Professional" in GOG) and all hidden caches including sea ones, only had horse race final(bugged for me and Gwent NPC card playing ,again bugged out at certain stage) so nothing I could do about those, also got best ending so happy with that.

Game is great but needs more patches/fixes,in the mean time I can play other games while we wait for those patches .

Btw retail W3 which I have has GOG key so they have quite a lot of sales.

I have about 30 hours in and I am not really that far in...I just keep exploring, and I must say most open world games tend to bore me after this amount of time.

There is just enough hidden around the world that you can come across to keep my attention, but there is WAY too much crap laying around (yes it suffers from TES syndrome in that manner).

I do not like how they handle the map/end of the map though. I would prefer hard edges rather than guessing and seeing trails or somethign in the distance that it won't let you go to.

Just got both Feline and Griffin full set with both swords mastercrafted at level 31. The Feline were easier for me to find.

Not much from what I notice. I feel like it looks sharper with hbao.

From my experience, HBAO+ offers more realistic gradients (not nearly as dark) and they reach out farther up walls and such. Where a picture with SSAO the dark spots are obvious from non-SSAO, but then switching to HBAO+ it looks like a more spread out and even shadowing.

Not exactly. 80hrs finished. A contract or 2 left and I'm not going to spend 20hrs completing Skellige question marks when I have 46K. I also played on maximum easy because lazy.

I think I had about 104k in money when I finished the game, the actual main story is not that long,it's broken up so seems longer then what it actually is,as you probably know.
