A tiny corridor with 3 or 4 NPCs. TRULY EPIC. It was utterly hilarious that 70% of the cutscenes were pre-rendered too. Next gen is so weak its laughable.

That has annoyed me too honestly. And honestly the few places that I've seen cutscenes so far didn't look like anything that couldn't have been rendered in-engine. Weird choice.

Game of the year?

I would be utterly shocked if it isn't. I can't remember the last game that had such universal acclaim from both users and reviewers.

And..if you just follow the main quest and ignore everything else it will go much faster..but not sure why you'd want to. The side quests are actually more interesting than the story unlike most games. There's lots of little things to find if you explore too.

Also, for those that have finished...

There's an area I found with a circle of large upstanding stones with circular marks on them, and in side those stones are 3 flat stones with fire pillars on them. You can ignite them and there seem to be clues to the patterns scrawled around but I couldn't figure out what you are supposed to do. Is there anything to this?

Yep - I found that area as well- cant remember where now. But I thought... hmm... there has to be some thing to this, but I could not figure it out either. I wonder if it will be a spot for a DLC.

Level 34 now and ready to tell a certain person that the preparations are done.

about enlisting Dudu to rescue Dandelion

and then all of a sudden the screen blurred and a loading icon appeared on the right hand corner. It lasted about 3 seconds and I couldn't affect or do anything. Then it went away and everything went back to normal and I could continue the conversation with Priscilla.

The screen blur and load thing has been known to happen, usually when Geralt is moving through a dense area of Novigrad. And even so, it happens once. But I've never seen it happen during a conversation with an NPC before.

Wait a minute, where exactly were these? My memory is extremely bad. All I can remember is in-game scenes with motion capture. If they were extremely poor I may have skipped them.

Beginning running out of White Orchard, and some shonky ending bits. Not much in the middle (if any).

Since I updated to patch 1.06, the game is doing that every 10 minutes now no matter where I am D:

God damn, it was just a simple hotfix and they still managed to screw it up! Is there anyway to backtrack on patches with the GoG version?

OK I solved the issue. I uninstalled Visual C++ 2012 x64 and then reinstalled it and the problem is gone. Somehow it was corrupted by the patch update, or whatever else I did to my PC today

so for some reason my middle mouse button does not work. i wasn't able to use the crossbow or throw bombs even tho during the tutorial it worked.

also my mouse scroll was working in white orchard, but now that i'm in velen i can't scroll thru the signs anymore to use. i have to press 3-7 to choose a sign. same with the world map, i was able to mouse scroll to zoom in and out before. no longer.

any ideas? bug? glitch?

In reality, it's just a good year with Witcher 3, Batman and then Fallout 4. Sprinkle in some Halo 5 and there it may be year of the decade.

checked that, i even reset everything default to see if that would work.

i had to bind something else to use the crossbow/throw bombs.
i cannot bind middle mouse to anything, if i choose to remap any key, when i press middle click, or scroll, it doesn't do anything.

middle click and scroll work fine in other games tho and windows. weird

The Witcher 3 is an exceptional game. Those don't come around often.

But so is GTA V. People might have forgotten, because the xbox and ps3 versions have been out for years. But GTA V is awesome. Even though lots of people seem to find stuff that is not up to their standards. Yeah, right. Always complaining. But like I wrote before, GTA V is more impressive than anything we've seen since Skyrim.

It's weird. GTA V and The Witcher 3 were released less than a month apart. They are both the best we've seen since the last milestone-game (November 2011, Skyrim). Imho both games deserve to be game of the year. And I can't remember even a single game that I would have given goty of 2012, 2013 or 2014. (Mmmm, Dishonored in 2012 maybe. But it doesn't even come close in quality to GTAV and TW3).

Even after the games we know about from E3 there is nothing this year that will even come close to witcher or batman. Unless halo5 is some life changing fps experience which I doubt and that is a console game exclusive to a single platform so the number of people to experience it is far less.

Yeppers. Witcher 3 is the best single player action RPG I've ever played, including Skyrim.
