I wouldn't compare this game to BG at all. I'd call it "Fable done right".
That's the most accurate comparison I've seen. Fable done right indeed.

I think I will buy this game tomorrow. Can someone tell me what the difference is between the censored version and uncensored version? And where can i get the uncensored version? I'm a fucking adult, I don't need Big Brother censoring my shit.
hmmm...
how about reading the posts above yours.
Don't see it. What am I missing here?
Tits, gore and the witcher saying fuck.
Never played Fable but just finished the game. Fighting picked up a lot and by the end I'd say the combat aspect felt a lot like JKII, just really dumbed down. Still, really enjoyable game and the story and art is excellent.Originally posted by: reerun

I do not like the combat system at all.
I know it can be hard to put melee fighting in a game, but I find the current way of doing it in the witcher annoying.

The combat system is complete garbage. That along with the never-ending cut scenes destroy any sense of gameplay. All the work that went into the graphics, sound and the seemingly high production values becomes worthless. Also, are they trying to rival Dead or Alive with the bouncy tits?
Metacritic roundup, Edge gave it 50/100.
In the end The Witcher is a wonderful RPG with only a few flaws. The game is always exciting and interesting, and will have you thinking ?just one more quest stage before I go to bed,? until the morning light surprises you. Play at your own risk, because you will be surprised at what a detailed, if depressing, world the developers have laid out for you.

Agreed, Bioshock is another game that's supposed to suck for the first few hours like The Witcher. Sorry but I want it to work from the get-go. My brother and I spent the second half of the first level and the whole of the second laughing. The intro went on forever then I'd barely walk 6 feet towards each objective before another cut scene kicked in. It took the piss. I might as well be playing Dragon's Lair.
Other problems - why can't you jump down to a ledge below you? That would be because of the invisible walls Why do the AI characters stand on the stairs waiting for you to hit them? Why are they happy to attack 1 at a time until you've wiped them out, ever so infuriatingly slowly as the sword refuses to do anything... I'll leave it there. They have potential as a developer but they also have a lot to learn.
The Witcher is one of the first roleplaying games with teeth that we have seen in a long, long time. It is what I would call "angry fantasy". Life is nasty, brutish and short, there are "heroes" such as they are, people who are not quite as mercenary as men like Geralt, the protagonist, but when not killing monsters they're usually found killing or persecuting the nonhumans of the setting.
Not even the monsters are black and white, some are intelligent and aware of what they are and their actions but need help to stop it - a Witcher can cure as much as kill someone afflicted by lycanthropy or other such fantasy afflictions. There is no black, there is no white, even the villains are only a particularly darker shade of gray.

Witchers are taught excellent relationship skills because Geralt gets it on with anything that moves!

My save game folder was over 5 gigs by the time I had finished the game. Crazy...that's almost the original install of the game in saves. Btw, the extra weapon slot is useful. You can have two witcher swords with different damage/buffs depending on what enemy you're facing.
