PM me your address so I can come kick your ass. PBR is nectar of the gods.

You posting in this thread made me of course think of pickle-flavored beer. Gross.

I don't think I've ever had a bad beer. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough.

lol. good call. my buddy knows the pit crew of the Panoz car in the Le Mans series and we were hanging out with them a few days before the St Pete Grand Prix at a bar and one of em said "Beer is like a one night stand, the worst one I've had was still wonderful."

Taste is tradition. Bad taste is tradition. They push the fact that they have been using the same recipe for yyeeaarrss.

This was a more of less ongoing joke beer that had a picture of Miss Olde Frothingslosh on them -- all 300+ pounds of her, in a bikini, with her bio written on the side. She was a licensed spot welder and loved to arm wrestle. She was from a small town . . . that got smaller when she left! And so on. The beer inside was heroically bad, possibly intentionally bad.

Let's not forget Hop-N-Gator, also from Iron City Brewing.

Miss Olde Frothingslosh

I never failed to puke when drinking Hoppengator, but I only drank it twice. I thought it was a lemon-lime malt liquor.

No question that Hop-n-Gator was freakishly bad, but Olde Frothingslosh was just Iron City in a different can, and while it's not on a par with, say, a fine microbrew, I never had a problem drinking "Vitamin I".

Epic fail. PBR is solid for a budget beer.

100% agree, its sold on tap lots of places and is better then most things like Bud, Coors and such

+ you can get a case of pabst pounders for like 14$

xed. (I see there are plenty of other people posting here defending PBR and know I won't be the last)

I like it better than Bud Light, but not quite Miller Lite. Many a fond memory of nights that started/ended drinking PBR.

while many of those beers do suck to drink they are great for cooking.

Wow....so many people have blasted a beer from my hometown....Iron Shitty..er City.

What is sad is that another beer from the area has become so popular despite the piss taste, Rolling Rock. Oh well, I guess there is no accounting for taste, the inability to succumb to marketing or peer pressure from the cool kids.

I can't believe that Natty Light hasn't been mentioned more (or Nat Light Ice at all) and that no one has mentioned Red, White and Blue.

How is this possible?

Are 3/4+ of the World Dumbasses?

Yes.

Actually, no. For what it is, an inexpensive mass-produced bland weak American pale lager, Budweiser is actually decent beer.

I just looked it up on ratebeer.com, and the best comment I saw about it was "Not worth the hatred, not worth the time." Sums it up right there for me.

To me, Blatz, Schlitz and PBR all go down pretty easy and taste good. They just give killer hangovers. All products of Wisconsin!

Meh,
I've never had Schlitz, but I've had a bunch of bud, miller, pabst, coors, etc products before. I don't find any of them repulsive or terrible. But on the other hand, I don't find any of them all that interesting either. If it's beer and it's cold, I'll drink it.

That said, I don't even know if I could tell the difference between one pale lager and another. To me, lagers all seem to taste very similar. Ales are where all the flavor is IMO.

I like Seattle's Best, I've never had Peet's (I'll look for it), and I only like Starbucks if I'm exhausted and need a coffee with 6 shots of espresso. Starbucks and Seattle's Best have a... I don't know how to describe it... alkaline taste for lack of a better term. It's not a "warm" taste like Dunkin Doughnuts and the coffee that I'm used to down here. Maybe that's why I like DD.

3. if you think DD is as good as it gets.

Well, it's the best I've had outside of cafe au lait in the French Quarter, but I don't feel like going down there every morning

You are using the phrase "begs the question" incorrectly. Please, please, please go educate your lame self.

And I STRONGLY disagree. Bud has some sort of chemical sweetness to it that makes me want to puke. Amongst "mass-produced bland weak American pale lagers" Bud is hands down one of the WORST.

Edit: And, to add insult to fucking injury, Bud cost MORE than a whole range of much better tasting weak American pale lagers.

Vic, the joke is on YOU. Bud isn't even that cheap. You drink that swill by paying for their stupid commercials. You lose.

Schlitz wasn't all that bad, we drank a lot of it in the '70's, now old bohemian, that was
just plain nasty, followed closely by black label. I had a can of BL once with something
settled on the bottom, like some kind of beer sludge..ewwww

not alkaline, acid. DD uses lower-grade beans that are heavily processed, and that tends to knock down the bitterness. the other 3 mentioned should have some varieties that aren't so bitter.

if you have a trader joe's market near you, the coffee is pretty good and the price is comparable to DD.

I guess all that like Budwieser are just robots? I am your MASTER!
I'm surprised at how people that like Budwieser, are afraid to admit it!

I'll make a poll, for the numbnut Senior here!

Where did he have that finger?

Yeah, that was the immediate response from my house mates and me after taking swigs of that most vile concoction. Henceforth it was always referred to as "Bishop's Ass."

:Q Seriously? I think it's a travesty that you mentioned Guiness in a thread about bad beers.

But, I guess I need to keep a little perspective; people up here think I'm nuts as I don't care for lobster at all. To each his own. Just, keep that to yourself should you ever visit Ireland or select areas of Boston. Thems fightin words!!
