lol, in my travels, I personally saw some of those names on those cars.. especially the Delica Space Gear. That's one popular minivan overseas. I've actually seen some really cool practical mods done to that van (lifted, larger wheels, guards.... good example here: http://www.delica.ca/forum/greetings-from-terra-2-imports-with-pics-2746.html )

Pontiac Aztek? Worst name ever on perhaps the ugliest vehicle ever.

Chevy Avalanche? Um...on a scale of stupid names for vehicles this has to rank up there. I mean really, you named your truck after a rapid flow of snow down a slope? In mountainous terrain avalanches are among the most serious objective hazards to life and property...and you thought this would be a good name for a big ugly plastic clad truck?

Although I agree with you that the name absolutely sucks but it does seem appropriate for the car. Hell, you could even turn it into an adjective; that is an Avalanche of a truck...

None of those names are/were used in the US market except the Swinger for the Dodge Dart, which really isn't that bad at all.

My picks for worst were all US market Daewoo models:

Leganza

Lanos <---- Least worst.

They all sound like they were computer generated by a program/user for whom the English language wasn't native, which, come to think of it, was probably the case!

Also, Daewoo itself sounds, in English, like it escaped from the lips of a mentally challenged onlooker pointing at the shiny passing car, "Day-Woooooooooo!", (then drools and pisses himself.) :awe:

Edit: Although, "Bring me a Nubira, bitch" has a certain ring to it.

They don't need computers, just a very poor grasp of English.

Until the Genesis series came out, the Equus was Hyundai's luxury flagship. I always found great humor in a fallic extension luxury car being named after a play about a sexually-dysfunctional momma's boy.

The decked out version of the Kia Credos was called the Credos Excess.
