In the OP, I wonder if the ref thought KD was OOB but in the air when he threw the ball back in? Clearly not the case, but if that's what he thought happened then it's a legal play. Unless there's some rule that if a player runs OOB he can't be the 1st player to touch the ball or try to throw it back in similar to the NFL. IDK. Either way, that's a BS call, coming from a dubs fan.

Carey Frasier comes to mind with the '93 Leafs Vs La Kings...blantant slash by Gretzky and we lose the game.

What about Brett Hull's skate being clearly in the crease (back when that was still a rule), on the winning goal that won the Stanley cup for Dallas over NJ back in ~99?

Over Buffalo, not NJ.

NHL ruling was he had continuous possession of the puck because he was getting his own rebound. Depending on who you ask this was either consistent or not consistent with how that was called previously.

Try the 2002 Western Conference finals and all the phantom fouls called on the Kings.

I remember watching that series, and it was very disappointing, and hands down the worse officiated series in NBA history, especially I believe game 5 if I recall.

It's not a legal play even if hovering. The player has to re-establish himself inbounds BEFORE touching the ball or it's out.

when you say "worst in history" it clearly needs to be outcome deciding. which the one last night wasn't. i was ticked that it happened and then harden stabbed the warriors and the nba's shitty officiating in the throat.

that's not even near the worst call in houston sports history, which is renfro's non-catch against the steelers in the 1980 AFC championship game (though even that one wasn't clearly outcome deciding as the steelers scored another TD later).

It doesn't even bother me any more, it's expected at this point

Yes, I do agree that the Lions have gotten hosed. But they don't deserve the benefit. They are a garbage franchise and never stand up for themselves.

The Seahawks knocking the ball out of the back of the endzone was a prime example of the Fords bending over and taking it.

And 're-stablishing' means having both feet in bounds, not just one.

(Not saying you didn't know, just clarifying for the other dude who didn't)

Came here to post (and expecting) this.
It's WAY worse because it ruined a perfect game. Mind boggling horrible call.
Yeah, that was horrible. Must have been before coaches' challenges. Umps hardly ever make such bad calls at first base. They are trained to listen for the ball hitting the mitt while watching when the runner's foot hits the bag. Ump must have been out of it or maybe the fan noise was so intense he couldn't hear the ball hitting the mitt. Of course, light >>>> sound, but he still should have heard it way before foot hit the ground. Probably it was the crowd noise.

Oh right Buffalo. I knew it was Hazcjzsik's team, just put him on the wrong one.

Hahahahahahahaha, holy shit. I was expecting some petty back and forth "nuh-uh" "yes-huh!" back and forth of someone claiming some arguable subjective call was clearly one way or the other. Damn. And they reviewed it...ahahahahahaha.

I even like the Warriors (mostly Kerr, Curry, and Klay) but goddamn that's impossible to defend. And while I'm not much of a fan of his, I'm glad Harden got to give them a big fuck you that night.

Yep, just had a candidate for the worst call, during the Rams-Saints game.
