I put my vote in for ...

HACKERS!!!!!

That was the dumbest movie I've watched recently. Funny thing is my G/F bought it for me for X-mas cause I like computers so I watched it thinking"just dont say anything, it's almost over" because I didnt want to hurt her feelings. I think she knew though.

I rented moulan rouge(sp?) for my wife last week. It was the worst f#$king movie! I could only watch ~30 min. What was up with them singing contemporary songs in 19th century Paris?

Previously, I would have voted johnny depp's babyface (or whatever it was called) as the worst movie. And I only paid a $1 to see it. By the way, both movies were my wife's choices.

Ok, I'm gonna jack that earlier list someone posted. Looks like a lot of people in this thread and I don't agree too.

Being John Malkovich - great film, Spike Jonze is a really cool director, haven't you guys seen his great music videos
Fargo - good, the acting is great and the movie is creepy in many ways, although I prefer other stuff from the Coen Bros
Clerks - omg this is hilarious, do you not know the Kevin Smith story and how this was made
2001 - monumental, made sci-fi acceptable don't you get that?
Resevoir Dogs - also genius, hope Tarantino does something edgy and unique again
Fifth Element - ok
Blade Runner - ok, I think uber geeks really love it a bit too much. Ridley Scott has great visuals though consistently.
Dumb and Dumber - amusing at many times
Zoolander - had some good moments, decent
Crouching Tider, Hidden Dragon - not only some of the best fighting scenes ever, but its an asian movie that doesn't completely suck for once (aka all that horrible Hong Kong action)

Where are some of you guys from, Junior High School? Yea I guess you can say I like the view from my horse if thats what you think.

My least favorite movie would have to be Face Off 30 minutes too long, and I'm really not a fan of Nicholas Cage. He's pretty much the only actor or actress I can't stand. But he is a Coppola so I guess that that's how he got his start. I'm not a fan of a lot of the John Woo stuff I guess.

I thought that was really good actually.

It was. It's just that people have been spoon-fed hollywood garbage for so long that they got pissed off when they didn't get to see any aliens.

Dark Star.

That may be some cult hit 60's scifi movie, but riding a freaking metal surfboard down to a planets surface as a finale????

The only movie I can ever recall actually giving up on and shutting off was Moulin Rouge. Although the second Crow movie was pretty bad. I actually liked Hudson Hawk when I first saw it. Not so much the second time I saw it, but it had the more Moonlighting style Bruce Willis. I actually bought it with part of a Christmas gift card last week since I have a goal of owning every Bruce Willis movie(exept maybe Story of Us and Bonfire of the Vanities) on DVD.

I was beginning to think I was the only person on earth who felt this way. Glad I'm not alone.

*getting riding boots on*

When I see people saying the "Blade Runner" and "Contact" are bad movies, I can only think that a) they've lived with very high standards all their lives, i.e. toast their bread while reciting the "Odyssey" in ancient Greek or b) belong to the group that thinks kitsch is good, and Mivchael Bay is the greatest director of all times, second only to Spielberg.

"Contact" has so many layers of intrigue, it's absolutely amazing. It's a movie that really appeals to the dreaming nature of the soul, raises really disturbing questions about human nature, and the way we chose to shape our society. Has anyone realized, for instance, that "Arroway", the name of the main character, is the Americanized spelling of "Arouet", the real name of the famous skeptic Voltaire? That the movie really tries to bring forth the frictions between science and religion?

There is at least one more movie that people seem to be against, and that would be "Starship Troopers". I guess it's a question of defining satire, but that movie is brilliant at what it does.

For the rest, I'm sorry if "Maxim" readers were offended by my previous post, but the magazine was really an illustration (no pun intended) for my point.

*I will now jump back on my high horse and leave the lumpenproletariat to its regular programming*

Recently: Swordfish. I guess I wasn't drunk enough at the time to appreciate the melons scene and to ignore how he broke a 128 bit encryption key in 60 seconds on a laptop.

R.O.T.O.R. - This is one of those movies that are so bad you can't help but to watch it all. I was pleased to see it listed as #20 on the bottom 100.

Anaconda - I was amazed that giant snakes could move so fast, and enjoyed spitting their prey out just so they could eat it again. I'm sure Jon Voight doesn't include this one on his resume.
