Yeah so I went to Gameworks (huge arcade here in the DFW area) with ultra high expectations.. I mean, I hadn't been to a real arcade in 2 or 3 years. What I got when I found there thoug.... more and more racing games with graphics equal to the original Daytona USA, shooting games that could barely struggle to get past Time Crisis 2 level graphics. Argh. The allure of future arcades won't be the graphics anymore.. not with Geforce3's and above out there for people to get. It'll be cool stuff like... this one shooting game I saw where YOU have to actually do the dodging.. not just kick a panel. And I mean real dodging - ducking, hiding behind an imaginary wall, it was really rough, haha, and a lot of fun. And this aircraft fighter game with 3 screens surrounding you, that was really nice too.
I guess it's not a bad thing, as long as the creativity continues to flow..
