Absolutely a great game. I had just built a new high end machine, when it first came out, that played it very well. Good looking game for its time also.

This was a great game although I constantly ran into a bug where I could get to a certain point (using multiple machines) and the game would crash.

Yeap, ran this on my PII 400 with a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP back in the day. I loved the outdoor mech levels and the MP with mechs was a lot of fun on a LAN. Very satisfying game and one that I played all the way through during my college years.

It reminds me of No One Lives Forever, in that it had some lasting and memorable style to both the story and graphics. This game had some character and was fun.

I do too, but the installer is 16bit, which means it won't install. I couldn't get it to play correctly since giving up Win98SE anyway. I'm sure there is probably a work around, but I'm willing to just pay the $6 to not have to deal with all that. It's nice to have a manual and all the extra goodies too from GoG .

Ahhhh, yes, Shogo, running on the famous LithTech engine (back then it was considered by many as superior to id Tech 2), I remember playing it on a few occasions at my friend's, he loved the game, I liked it as well but I never really wanted to get it, not that I had a computer capable of running it anyway back then. Maybe now it would be a good opportunity to play it once and for all, those guys at GoG can make little miracles (although I don't particularly like their work on Earthworm Jim, with some missing levels and sound-related bugs).

When I encounter a problem with a 16-bit installer on my Vista x64 OS I usually boot up a VM with WinXP 32 and do the installation from there. After that's done I can copy the files and registry over to the host Vista x64 OS.

This is one of those games that I wish someone would come along and just duplicate it in a modern game engine. I know it is not as easy as it sounds, but it has to be simpler than developing an entire new game. I would pay $20, maybe even $30 for it if it looked good.

A great game. I replay it every year or so and just did again two months ago (still installs easily on XP 32 bit). I'm not into anime at all (actually dislike it) but this game really does it for me. Multiplayer in a LAN setting is also really awesome.

On a side note, I didn't know that many other people enjoyed Oni. I remember picking it up for PS2 and liking the game but never finishing it due to the controls. Did it sell well or was it mostly a cult hit?

Oh what the heck, if we're adding Oni we minus whale put SiN, Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2, Alice, Blood, Blood 2, Undying, Alien vs. Predator, Kingpin, NOLF, and Thief I/II on there as well!
