Exactly. He earned it. So let him do whatever he wants. Hell, if I had a billion dollars I sure as hell would be doing whatever the hell I felt like whenever the hell I felt like it.
Exactly.
He helped people by doing business with them - they gave him money, because his software/services made their life better, and he took the money and gave software/services because the money made his life better. It's his choice how to spend the money and so no one can tell him what he should/shouldn't do with it. He already did his part for society by making the lives of others better.

This. QFT.
The comments in the article are pathetic and disgusting. Wonder if those idiots realize he's creating more jobs by living this way then most of the Federal Stimulus projects?
The comments are pretty ... stupid.
Rock on Paul, 90% to charity upon death is pretty epic of him. Does he list what charities?
Out of all the crooks in DC and Wall Street, why pick on this genuine guy?
How about "The Alliance of Those Who Have Been Boned by Ten Dollar Ticketmaster Convenience Charges".
The only thing that ticks me off about Paul Allen is that he lost his bid for the Golden State Warriors over something like 50 million dollars. Like he couldn't have just tossed that in.
Oh well, new ownership has been great so far.
