Does a thermal pad/compound come on retail versions of AMD processors? I just got mine and I can't tell if the square on the heatsink is a thermal pad.

The only time I'd reccomend AS5 is if you're overclocking, otherwise it's not even worth the effort. AMD's pads are of astounding quality(just try seperating the HSF and CPU, it's like they're super-guled) and are more than enough for most users.Originally posted by: Chode Messiah
