thermal throttling ?

I was wondering how this option should be set in the bios. I know it has something to do with regulating the heat on CPU. I did a search in google and got different kinds of answers. Some suggested to set it at 0% while others set it at 50% or more ??? This is confusing.

Your inputs are much appreciated.

8RDA+? That is a Socket A Motherboard - IE: AthlonXP.

To the best of my knowledge thermal throtteling is a characteristic of the Pentium4....

Nope...the 8RDA+, and by extension, the NF2 chipset supports it.

Once the processor gets to a certain temperature, it will lower the clock speed, to stop it from overheating and burning up.

This was built into the Pentium 3/4, and is available on some AMD motherboards with support from the chipset, such as the nForce2 chipset

Yup, my mobo is 8rda+. The thermal throttling is currently set at 50 %. I oc'ed the cpu from stock to 2ghz on barton 2500 stock HSF.
