Thermalright SK-7 question, how low of a cfm fan is advisable

Just ordered an sk7 and am going to use one of the many 80mm fans I already have laying around. The
case is an Antec 3700 and it'll have two of the quiet NMB 80mm case fans that SVC sells, one blowing in
front and one blowing out the back, kind of low airflow but it has a good path.

The cpu is a 2200+ XP...would using one of those admittedly low cfm (around 18) NMB fans be advisable or am I asking
for trouble? Not OCing. Suppose I can just try it. Otherwise I have some other case fans that are around 30 cfm and
25-28 dba.

That NMB is probably marginal for your 2200+. I'd start with an L1A Panaflo. It has about 50% more cfm.

Use your fans and look at your temps. If it is over 50C, put something else on there. A good trick is to remove the attached metal on the case in the back where you place your outtake fan and snap on a grill instead. That way, airflow is better.

The NMB might be a little on the wimpy side, but there's only one way to know for sure.... You need to be ready to accept somewhat higher temps than many enthusiasts will recommend for a low noise system. Anything up into the very low 60's is really OK, so long as the system remains stable. Amd cpu's are rated to 90 degrees C, iirc, so you're well within that margin... Might only last 5 years instead of 10, but do you really care?
