agreed, bluefront, i'm a fan of both silence and performance; a frequent customer of both SCPR and performance sites like anandtech and others...
scpr is a great resource if silence is what you're after, but maximum performance is another story. That's the beautiful thing about the internet; the massive list of different opinions and niche sites directed at this audience or that.
the scpr guys are straight up and down as far as their purpose goes, but don't badmouth the dudes if you aren't into what they're preaching.

I guess I'm a "zealot of silence". I ruined my hearing when I was a younger. Loud motorcycles, insanely loud live music, no hearing protection ever. Now i suffer hearing loss and Tinnitus. So I do everything possible to lower noise levels around me....that includes obnoxous loud computers.
Zealots of silence are trying to help everyone save their hearing......when you start loosing it, you'll come around to silent stuff.
In most cases this can solved by rotating the heatsink 90 degrees (if space permits it). All you need is this Themalright S-type heatsink clipOriginally posted by: scrawnypaleguy
The thing I don't like most about that one is the fact that on most S939 heatsinks, it'll end up blowing air up towards the power supply, not directly towards the rear fan like my Ninja does. Sending that hot air into an already hot component doesn't seem very smart to me.
