i know alot of people are going with the ultra 120 and such, but Im wondering about the XP series. They have the XP90C (all copper) which im particularly interested in, but then they also have the xp120 which intrigues me as well.

these dont fit standard 775 socket so im wondering who has actually bought there adapter and put these on there C2D's and are they satisfied. LMK thanks

I doubt anyone is buying these that doesn't already have one, there are cheaper options that perform just as well and the si series is thermalrights newer and better series.

Again thats just not the case......and yuo cannot make that assumption based on a review or 2....

I have used the SI--120 and the XP90 copper as well as the XP--120 and the Ultra......
There is hardly any real discernable differences in temps....
Again there are so many variables from case to case that what works real well for one person perhaps might not work as well for others.

Since there are so many top quality heatsinks unlike a few years ago when there were only a few ral good heatsinks times have changed.

You just cannot make a blanket statement concerning one top heat sink verses other top heat sinks.

people are saying the ThermalRight Ultra and the Tuniq are the best but I read other forums and thats just not the case. Both are excellent heat sinks i own about a dozen heatsinks including the 2 I mentioned.

To the OP get any of the therRight heatsinks or even the Scythe Ninja or any of th Scythe heatsinks or the Tuniq Tower or the zalman 9500.....you can`t go wrong with any of these i have mentioned and there are others that are also good...Arctic Freezer makes some nice heatsinks!!

Well....I bought my XP-120 a year ago aprox. when it was said to be the best HS....I mounted it on an AMD Athlon64 and a DFI nf4 SLI-DR...no complaints at all...nice temps and low noise.
Right now, I've already migrated to Intel's Core 2 Duo tech., and I wanted to give my XP-120 a chance so I bought the adapter for LGA 775 boards. I haven't had any issues at all when installing the Xp-120 with the adapter..except for the screws that came with the adapter; they are too short for Asus stack cool boards....but I replaced them with a lil' bit longer ones and there you go!! Nice pressure, nice contact, nice/average temps!!
Cheers!!

I'm using an SI-120. I really like how it towers over the MB and provides plenty of clearance.
You may run into problems if you use a desktop case rather than a tower.

I plan on using my XP-120 on my new C2D set-up. I like that it blows down on the mosfets and motherboard to help cool them. And with my 120mm Delta High-speed Triple-Blade fan, it cools like a mofo.

fwiw - The newer Thermalright LGA775 adapter kits are supposed to come with longer screws.

It's pretty decent, nice budget option but i'd go with a SI 120 (or the ultra 120) and a yate loon if you've got the $ spare and you want low noise.

Yeah, both the Ninja and the Ultra-120 will do better than the Typhoon, but it is pretty good too. I know you can get the Ninja for $35 (if you can find it in stock) and I got my ultra-120 at Jab-Tech for about the same price as the Typhoon.
