It would be a hot deal if this was the SE, but the old Big Water is normally around 100, isn't it?

Ive heard that with these cheap water coolars that you want get much better performance than a good HSF. Is this true? Ive heard you need to spend a lot of money and get seperate parts if you want good performance from a water coolar. Since i have no experience i don't know.

You mean slot covers? You typically dont need to use an actual PCI slot, just one of the slot covers on the back. The majority of decent sized towers have around 7 slot covers, which is typically more than the actual number of slots in a computer. Unless its SLI those often contribute to the total used slots. But in SLI systems, most stuff is built into the motherboard anyway and you probably wont need to use all the slots on the motherboard.

Edit: re the post before mine: Directron is a good place to order from when they have good deals. Plus they aren't in CA, so if you are in CA and tired of paying tax, they are a good place to check to see if they have a good price.

I suppose this requires a 120mm cut out for the radiator?

Edit: yes it does. Sigh, stupid wavemaster case not having a 120mm fan

hey guys, i was pretty amazed witht he price of 76 bucks after rebate......so i got a question for you. how much better is this than a big typhoon for me? i have a e3 venice 3000 on stock cooler with really good overclocking capabilities but STOCK COOLER is stopping me. i did 2.9 but the tems almost burned it. thanks

Not much. I think cheap water cooling will only help with the extremly hot processors, mainly the Pentium 4/D and to a certain extent the AMD X2. FOr the venice chips, you need good water cooling for a difference to be made, as the single core A64s run pretty cool to the touch already.

i understand that, but how different are the temps going ot be on bigwater se vs. big typhoon.
P.S. BIGWATER COSTS 76-110
BIG TYPHOON COSTS 40-65
so is it still worth it?

IMO not worth it much. You won't see a drastic overclock increase with the bigwater on a venice.
