Thermaltake PSU

I need a psu for the computer that my wife uses a little, but is mainly for the kids to play games (toddler games). Is this psu any good. Newegg had nothing but great comments, but that doesnt neccessarily mean anything. I was only looking for ~350w, but this was only $3 more ($38). Any help would appreciated.

Do you have personal experience to back that up? Could you be a little constructive and let me know what doesnt "suck" for less than $40?

I think the Tt 420W is a bit weak, also I heard some ppl say that the voltages jumps around. I personally never have any experience with the 420W to tell you anything. However, I have a Thermaltake 480W Butterfly and its very well made, voltages are stable and strong, no stability issues with prime95 loops and 3dmark loops.
The only downside is that without the controller, the fan is a bit loud when the computer is at full load. The good thing about that is the PSU runs cooler than my True480.

I suggest you get silent purepower 480W instead.

Thermaltake PSU's are very high quality. My 420W Purepower performs to within 3% of voltage rails when under load (game, not Prime95).

My dads 480W Tt Xaser is also a consistant performer.

Arent Thermaltake PSU's rebadged and revamped Enlight or Chieftec PSU's? Not many people complain about them.

The Purepower 420W are as good as Antec/Enermax.

I believe they are made by Enlight. Either way, my TBred 2700+ and 9800 PRO do't seem to mind it at all.

My 480W TT buterfly is great and very-very silent when automatic fan control is enabled (except when I play, where fan speed raises, but isn't too loud. My system is very silent).

You're gonna get pretty much what you pay for. TT makes a decent power supply but I think that they are probably rebadging someone elses. Wait a pay period and get a zalman or seasonic unless you're not concerned with noise.

What are you looking for in a psu?
