First look, it definitely needs lapping.. but I never done it so i'm not going to mess with it... will see how it compares with my v7+

I just got one from Fry's also. It's not going on until I do a mobo transplant tho', towards the end of the month.

My 'old school' Alpha 8045 still keeps my Barton 2500+ @ 3200+ speeds around 44 to 50. I just wanted something with a clip instead of a complete mobo removal.

The Thermaltake Silent Boost looks like it uses a Panasonic (Panaflo) FBL series fan. Here is a link to the FBL series from Digikey:

Panasonic FBL series fan spec's

These fans have been out for over a year now at least. I looked at them over a year ago. After looking at spec's and price from Digikey, I did not buy any.

"Out of Stock"

Is this one of the best peforming while still being quiet HSFs there is?
Would this perform better than an Alpha 8045 w/ YS Tech 48CFM? Should be a lot quieter, correct?

I took the plunge.

Hopefully, this and a new seagate barracuda will lighten the noise load.

Has anyone heard good things about the Nexus 3000 p/s?

I'm going after a really quiet setup for my barton 2500.

Bah, I have a xp1800 so no need for this "super" "cool(literally)" heatsink fan.
Has anyone heard of TTGI power supplies? I saw it some some forum and someone post a link that gave it a pretty good rating. The rails seem powerful/powerful enough and it has many fans to add more air current. Still though I never heard of TTGI.
Link to a site.
Link to manufacture site?

you don't know what you're talking about. fry's = easy returns? fry's in no way has easy returns. they have a horrible customer service line that stretches out the door sometimes. how is that easy? plus you have to argue with those guys

I bought one of these and I can't wait to see what kind of results I'll get.

I use a Volcano 9 right now and its louder than a mofo; I can't stand it. To get around the noise, I just crank up the tunes really loud!

I will say this, I buy some case-mods from SVC but their shipping is a ripoff! I just ordered a HS/Fan for my ATI card and a cable floppy came to $19.00 + $7.10 shipping for UPS ground knowing it proabably cost then $2.00!

If you chose USPS Priority it'd cost you like $5.15.

I'm not sure, but AICMicro is good people. I got my Epox 8RDA+ there originally it came out, and after it came DOA a replacement came pretty quickly, and the tech support manager even gave me a choice to swap the Epox with either MSI boards when he received news from Epox that they had a short supply. The overall time took 5 days.

I wouldn't be so sure - UPS has been upping their prices on smaller shipments. As was mentioned, try USPS next time from them, should come out cheaper I'd think.

It looks like these are for AMD only.
A mention of this, in the title, would be considerate.

Don't be a lazy bone. All you have to do is click the link and read the spec.

Yeah, I've only had good luck w/SVC. Wish they'd do a flat rate shipping, but otherwise they're great.

I have the TTGI 520; Have had it for 15 months and used in on 4 boards. Voltages are strong and very stable. Adjustable 5 and 12Volt pot inside the back. Very happy with it. Very popular on XStreme systems forum where it was given a large buy.

If you are going to overclock this is an excellent choice IMHO.

Woah. Or he could have just read the title and moved on, instead of clicking on the thread, reading, then clicking on the link to the HSF, and reading. 4 extra steps there.

Yeah, next time someone is going to put the whole spec in the title so we won't miss a beat. Can't wait for that long ass title.

I have no idea what I'm talking about? Maybe your fry's is just being d1cks. but i never had a problem returning anything, I even gotten credit back from a CF card that broke in a 6 months period.
